well technically germany did not have a single party governing in its history – but the union parties did hold an absolute majority in the third Bundestag (1957-1961)

"[this party] might not be ready for power." is the kind of thing a party that cannot win honestly or can't bear to give up power says about the opposing party to stoke fear. Don't say that. Only the German people as a whole can ultimately decide which party is or is not ready for power.

What they should do is to move the means of production from the states and big businesses to municipalities and individuals, by investing in Energy positive homes, 3D printing, and Indoor-farming. People should become more independent as the society advances, not more dependent. Only when people are politically, economically, and ideologically independent, Democracy could work.

I do hate that most of the "green" parties in the world arent actualy about the environment they just want to seem like they are by passing stuff that looks or sounds like it will help while not being in any way backed by data or science. Obviously there are some stuff that might work mixe din tehre but most stuff that sounds like it will make a big difference isnt helpfull and most of the impactfull changes are stuff that doesnt sound at all like it has anyhting to do with the environment and as such isnt a priority for the "green" parties.

My expectation would be that the current 2 right wing parties get the most seats but failed to form a coalition and the coalition that forms centers around jointly of the green and the SPD. I suspect to this come alician will require them either to pick off some minor parties on the right or add the left party. I suspect you will end up in a situation where a coalition cannot form without at least one of the SPD and the greens in the less you include both the big far right party and the left party. Notably all 3 of these larger parties have said at least that they want to form a coalition with either the right or the left party which may and up with a deadlocked Parliament. My suspicion is that you'll end up with a green SPD minority cover alician that gets in because the left party votes them in without participating in the coalition.

I wish Germany would be able to have it's first Green chancellor, so it would guide our Europe (I really "do" defend!) towards this green mindset – being futuristic to me, as far as Germany spreads just a slight bit more then France their waste abroad! (I were German, this party would not have to fight for getting my support)

The gas pipeline would make Germany more dependent on Russian gas, and in case of a war Russia could just stop the supply and put the garmans in to the cold

  25. @Fliptheonly

    March 7, 2024 at 12:28 pm

I had a bit of a turnng point when the Fridays For Future protests were a thing, and while the SPD was making a joke of themselfes by seemingly trying to appease everyone without any principals of their own, the greens actually made some very sensible points regarding the future of the energy sector, that were far less radical then what the protesters wanted and mostly aligned with the industries reality (I studied energy management at the time). A realist/centrist green party could be a very sensible choice and bring some fresh air in the CDU dominated politics of the past who-knows-how-many years.
