Guy is talking about Croatian politics and mentions only the left-wing parties (SDP and Možemo), which have about 22% support in the polls, while he didn't mention the right-wing parties (MOST/HS and DP) which have about 17% support and many former HDZ voters will vote for them now…

This video is wildly inaccurate. The current government's term ends this year. Just like the UK parliament. Also wouldn't it be helpful to explore the positions of both sides on Ukraine? Or maybe, any policy issue whatsoever?

I came to know Christ in jail in 2013 by reading a book, "Overcoming spiritual blindness" by James P. Gills MD. The veil was taken off my eyes. Heaven came through for me in my finances too, getting $25,000 monthly. I can support God's work and give back to my community. God is absolutely more than enough!

As a Croatian, I feel like we are screwed one way or other, governing HDZ is absolutely corrupt, disgraceful and shameful bunch of criminals of which every single member is accused for corruption scandals or other law violations, but on the other hand left-wing coalition (SDP, Mozemo/We Can, Fokus, IDS…), is too divided, incompetent and don't care about ordinary people, just about their own seats in parliament and other privileges given to them. Other parties are so irrelevant and can't even reach notable election results unless they form a coalition with major parties (HDZ-SDP). Please god help us here 😕☹️

A huge chunk of people here in Croatia are retired people that have a very low pension. HDZ just before election offers some small subsides to retirees which they eat up like nothing and then just vote for them. For as long as I remember they've been doing this and since they come on top every election they have the money to keep this train going while stealing money from the rest of the country throughout the mandate.
@whatever75

It is not early election – the term expires soon and he had to call an election. Also, HDZ is not in power over a decade, but two full terms which is 8 years.

For anyone wanting to know more, this isn't a political fight. This is a national fight for change and justice. HDZ has literally ruined every possible aspect of the country possible and made living in Croatia a struggle. The latest and biggest affair is 113 million euro stolen (google INA AFFAIR). It is VERY important to note that Croatian voters that vote for HDZ are mostly diehard voters that will never ever change their political preference; The biggest issue is that our turnout rate is less than 50%, so after years of blatant corruption, we are hoping for a higher turnout rate to overcome those diehard HDZ voters. Wish us luck.

I like how we juat casually toss in "orban style attack on democracy" when the only thing hes done that this channel dislikes is oppose the EU. If he did the exact same things as a peo eu party, he would be hailed as a savior of democracy. Case and point: Trusk in Poland.

The Yugoslav communist party under Tito ripped off many Croatian families by stealing ( forced nationalisation) their land, houses, property etc.
People who lost their wealth during Yugoslav communist rule have never been adequately compensated for this while others have benefited from their loss.

Plenkovic is a pretty good all around prime minister Croatia has had when comparing to previous elected prime ministers. Hes not perfect but he is democratic, supports minorty rights, pro Eu and builds many meaningful relationships with other heads of diplomacy in a very diplomatic way. Yes HDZ had more serious corruptioj in past but Plenkovic has tried to make the party better compared to its past. SDP and Mozemo are non factors, they are anti-Croatia former Communist sympathizers who are radical left and will leave Croatia in a disastrous woke state like Canada and USA and Britain currently are. Currently HDZ is most popular in majority of the country because all the other parties are very bad. SDP has been in power in the past and they literally never managed to do anything positive for the state which is why their party is at an absolute low and major infighting. HDZ isnt perfect and needs more reform but Plenkovic is a very strong diplomatic leader and trying to paint him as Orban is Vucic style propaganda. Plenkovic was literally forced to be in a coalition with a domestic radical Serb because the other Croatian parties at the moment behave amateurishly.

Both parties keep taxes too high and there isn't enough investments in the country. Most of the politicians from both parties are descended from former high flying commies who benefited from the previous communist era policies. Corruption remains high in the country ( some govt ministers and state companies) it doesn't matter which party in charge.

The government isn't dissolved yet. The ruling party decided they'll dissolve it on 22nd of March. They still have some laws they want to pass before, including the media bill mentioned in the video and a salary increase for public officials.
The elections will with 95% probability happen o 12th of May, as the week before is Easter for Orthodox Christians and the week later is too close to the European elections. The government chose the day of dissolution carefully so that the president is essentially forced to schedule them on that day.
It is also kind of coincidental this year happened to be an election super-year. General elections are every 4 years and presidential elections are every 5 years. We just happen to be in the part of a 20-year cycle where they are held close to one another.
Oh, and the left wing parties reached an agreement to run separately in constituencies where they fare well and jointly in constituencies where they don't.

i'm sorry but this is the opposite of journalism. chatgpt-researched and written articles are as big of a problem as coruption is. you're spreading false news. neither the government was nor will be dissolved, nor is the election early in any way, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary is happening. there's so much truth that you can say, and you create a video full of missinformation. how do you get these subscriber counts? this is absolutely not ok
@matijaradeljak
March 7, 2024 at 3:19 am
but this is entirely false news. the election is regular, a few months early which is within the typical range of choice for the incumbent gvnmt. also the government is not being dissolved, the parliament is getting out of session, because the regular elections are announced, again a standard thing.
i dont get how you make a news piece with entirely false news. the corrupt HDZ and others you mentioned can be talked about all you want, but most of what you said has little basis in reality, you're skipping to much context and just telling a fictional story altogether, which in itself is a win for HDZ in this case, considering you're taking away column inches from actual news. wtf..

I am from Croatia and I can tell you, the people here are the biggest problem. They complain about the certain goverment, but yet, they re-elect them again for some reason, lol. Both HDZ and SDP are corrupt, and no actual party here is good. Whoever we elect, we will suffer.
