Why is there even a debate it's just Messi is the GOAT 🐐

  3. @Dalgren969

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

Anybody who saw Maradona and Messi both play….knows who the GOAT is. It is not even an issue really…One is the football God, the other is his son.

The goat debate was over in 2012 but ok

Why is a Saudi League Poacher in the thumbnail with all time greats and the GOAT of Football

  6. @kennywong5857

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

GOAT is about how a player turns his vision of readibility into chances. A striker is about how turn those chances into goals. Messi are for both, he has a higher scoring rate than CR7. CR7 is a superb striker with a high chance-to-score conversion rate, not as high as Messi though. Besides, there are other players having a higher conversion rate than CR7, such as Gerd Muller, Van Basten, Ronaldo 9 and etc. However modern football requires the whole team supplying more chances to the striker. That's why CR7 scores more in number but not in conversion rate.

There was NEVER a "debate"… Media create "debates" to sell articles and for people to talk… EVERYONE KNOWS THAT MESSI IS THE BEST FOOTBALLER IN THE WHOLE FUKING HISTORY

G.O.A.T. = JOY TO WATCH WEEK BY WEEK, MAGICAL DISPLAYS DAY IN DAY OUT, M.V.P. EVERYWHERE, GOLDEN BALL WINNER EVERYWHERE, TOP GOALSCORER & TOP ASSISTER EVERYWHERE. MOST TROPHIES AND AWARDS WON IN THE WHOLE HISTORY OF THE SPORT. THAT'S WHAT THE DEFINITION OF G.O.A.T. IS

  9. @jorged06

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

CR7 in the same picture as maradona pele and messi is a joke. A great striker and scorer but not near the magic of pele and maradona. Brits and madrid fans put cr7 up there.

Ronaldo is by far the goat, bur as a Messi fan I think Messi is easily number 2 above Pele.

  15. @arundhatichakraborty296

Cristiano Ronaldo's the greatest soccer player of all time after "Pele" and "Ronaldo".

What always eluded me over the past 10-15 years is the fact, that team accomplishments are playing a role in a discussion about individual accomplishments. That's like saying Weah or Haaland or whoever wasn't born in a country that has a realistic chance to win a world cup can never be the greatest of their time ( let alone all time). It makes absolutely no sense. You have Cruyff in your top 5, yet there are hundreds of players that won a cup, but are not even close to be considered.

For me the questions is: who plays football the best at the moment? You answer this question, see some kind of longevity in that player, then you take him and not the 2nd or 3rd best of the generation and compare him to Pele and Diego.

Then comes the tricky part, because almost no one of us saw Pele and probably only some saw Maradona. I'm born in 1982 and was able to get a glimpse of Diego, but he was far past his peak – still I saw incredible stuff from him.

For me I say, that it's hard to imagine that anyone ever has played better at top stage than Messi ( Ronaldinho had more fun, though). And there's a good thing in this, because records are meant to be broken. So as much as you love Messi, you pray, that you live to see the days when an even better player comes along – its inevitable and the only question that poses is: Has he already been born?

  18. @jazzdub4958

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

Yes Danny Mills, but you have plenty of footage of Maradona and Pele for comparisons. This rubbish about seeing someone live is a nonsense, or is it simply for the privilege few that get paid to go to stadiums around the world watching the football while 90% of everyone else has to do with watching the tv? R9, Zidane and Ronaldinho at their peak powers was equal to Messi and in some ways better. I'm pretty sure you didn't watch George Best live, but you've seen the countless footage, are you still gonna say no one dribbles like Messi when Best was doing it 60 years ago? PELE is the GOAT.

Pele' scored 1282 goals in total (Messi scored only less than 900 in total! Not counting junior games, but counting friendly senior adult professional games!), no one can beat that mark! O.98 goals per game average!!! He played more than 100 games in Europe with the same average of 0.98 gols per game (Messi's average is 0.8 per game!). Wan 3 world cups (national) and 2 world cup for his club (Santos)!!! No one can beat that!!! Pele's friendly games goals should also count as almost all were played in Europe against top european teams of the time and the goal's average of Pele' is the same in friendly games as in official games. So the difficulty level was the same. Plus the amount of official games per year today is superior now than it was before, but the average of goals per official game of Pele' is much superior than that of Messi, even if one counts "only official games" (0.9 official goals per game for Pele' and 0.8 goals per game for Messi). Playing much more official games, anyone (really anyone!) can make more goals. All you have to do is to play until you are 50 in a small weak league. Like Cristiano now in Arabia or China. Plus: You know that Barcelona bought games in La Liga, so all Messi's goals in La Liga will be invalidated in this dispute. Look up the scandal this year: 1.5 million euros payed for referees between 2016 and 2018. This invalidates many Messi's goals made with penalty kick, in the period! THEN There is only one king!

When I see Lionel play, I start to think "Men In Black" is not a sci-fy movie, and aliens may be among us for real.

As an argentinian (and Lio's) fan, I always thought Ronaldo was underrated, and I think Lío himself is showing to the world right now how actually good the portuguese was at his peak physical prime.

I mean, Mbappé and Haaland can't overcome a 35 years old Lio about to retire, he's literally casting a Shadow that prevent these two amazing football players of winning any trophies and awards…

Ronaldo won 5 Ballon D'or when Messi was at his peak, I mean… How GOOD was he to stand toe to toe against the argentinian for more than a decade?

Messi is the greatest without any doubt, but I don't think he's by far.

Had Cristiano born in a country with a strong football culture like Argentina, with a good national team, he would have a World Cup or two already.

But then, if Ronaldo and Messi both were born in Argentina… Football wouldn't have been a fair sport anymore.

  23. @badabing8884

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

My four GOATs of football: Pelé (1956-1977), Maradona (1976-1997), Zidane (1989-2006), Messi (2003- ?). Have to win the WC to be in the conversation – sorry Cristiano.

And he's now won the World Cup!

  26. @228142

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

It is always the first person to show the qualities relevant to today's age and time that wins the best player of all time for me. And that person may God rest his soul in peace is Pele. He played elegantly, passionately and he won everything that is to be won. He stayed in one club, like Messi did. If Messi was playing he would not have been remembered like he is now. Look at the France born African players, they are the most wanted players by many clubs and they won the world cup for France. Messi grew up in Europe since his young age, and learned his trade in the best academy in the world. he was surrounded by some of the best players, coaches, doctors, and cooks. Pele grew up in Brazil, won the world cup at 17, and fulfilled the promise he made to his father. He faced many adversities, like racism, poverty, and in the field he was kicked and tackled aggressively. He created most of the moves players are trying to emulate nowadays including Messi. what dribbling technique did Messi bring?

  27. @seankinvarra1123

    March 8, 2024 at 5:38 pm

Pele's era was of a much lower standard than what Messi is up against today. Pele was able to dribble around what would be of the English lower divisions standard.
People including Pele himself have often said that Messi is nothing until he wins the WC. The Cope America which is a less difficult tournament that Pele never won, yet Messi did and Runner up twice.
There is not one top athlete of the 60's is better than today's in their own sport. MESSI is the GOAT so please stop this nonsense comparing some player of 64years ago to todays. That applies to any sport.
