What’s alarming is how many times this has happened recently. There is an ownership issue in English football. Which needs serious review and change. Whether that happens or not is another case…

The question is why was a chinese man allowed to buy the club in the first place? chinese, russia, saudi – all crooks. 100% he's using the team to launder money or something.

The EFL is a total shambles, they allow absolute cowboys to purchase clubs, run them into the ground & then punish the club and fans for it. Needs a total overhaul.

People hate on Arab owners who invest heavily but say nothing about Chinese owners who destroy everything in sight.

Chinese businessmen should never be allowed by the EFL and Premier League to buy English football clubs. They don’t understand and don’t care about the community aspect of owning a football club. They treat it purely as any other business and think that because they are football fans that they know how to do every part of it, including being involved in buying and selling players. Now that it’s all going wrong Dai Yongge (it’s pronounced “yong-ger” by the way) it aggressively cutting costs, in the process reinforcing every stereotype about the worst type of football owner. The sooner he’s gone, the better.

the premier league chiefs need to stop bad owners from coming into the league.
eg reading current owners as well as man utd current owners the glazers family.
strip them of thier ownership and get rid of them from the league permenently for good.

This could’ve been my club WBA next season if we hadn’t had the new takeover just now!
Lai was just a shambolic liar, and how our leagues approve these people is beyond me.
You have my upmost sympathies Reading fans.
It’s a car crash and even worse when you can see the inevitability of it all.

I wish they’d given the biggest ever fine to QPR the same level of scrutiny. The system is set up for dysfunction, rip it up and put in salary caps, like in the NFL, none of those lot ever go bankrupt.

They need to look into alternative punishments really. The current sanctions just push clubs closer to folding. I hope Reading get saved, from a Chelsea fan

He’s an awful owner and given how they’ve behaved with other teams Portsmouth Derby

I don’t think they drop into League Two with the PD but I think if “Die Young” stays then the club will probably be expelled from the EFL before next season
He needs to sell, and I don’t exaggerate to say that he’s probably the worst owner in England
