Scotland shaken by biggest earthquake for 30 years
The west of Scotland is known for many things – its beautiful scenery, its wildlife, its temperate climate.
But it is also a region prone to earthquakes – and the biggest one for 30 years has made itself felt.
Experts at the British Geological survey say earthquake measured 3.8 on the Richter scale and was centred on Moidart.

It was the biggest within 20 miles of the Highlands for 3 decades, it was later upgraded to a magnitude 4.0 quake followed by a M3.4 aftershock, there was a magnitude 4.0 earthquake in Arran in 1999!
