euronews I talk – Anni Podimata on the Greek crisis and the EU
http://www.euronews.net/ How do you solve a problem like Greece? Are we about to witness the gruesome end of an all-too-contemporary Greek tragedy? Or is Greece itself a scapegoat — the tip of an economic iceberg with the rest of Europe sinking on a financial Titanic?

In this edition of I-Talk we have the Greek vice-president of the European Parliament, Anni Podimata.
The first question is from Patrique Veneray from Belgium:

Queen Elizabeth’s coffin travels from Buckingham Palace to Westminster
The coffin with late Queen Elizabeth II’s body travels from Buckingham Palace to Westminster through central London on a gun carriage, with the king and other royals walking behind.
It will be placed in Parliament’s medieval Westminster Hall, where the Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct a short service. The queen will then lie-in-state for four days, until the morning of her funeral. Members of the public will be able to pay their respects and troops will keep a round-the-clock vigil.

@afro7660 Greece has oil in Aegean, Greece export marble, cement , cotton, agricultural goods, wine , textile to Europe, at least Greece has tourism, and it is not right, to tell that Greece cannot cover the debt, just under other conditions.. The fact , that they let Greece to take the huge loan it is bankirs trick, because they led the country to defolt to receive the biggest companies that now belong to state yet…

And something else, about gold says some journalists and historians, not goverment, goverment keep it in mystery, as they did about petrol in Aegean Sea, they knew about it from 60th, but untill now it was under secret.

@palomas9 Privat sector tries to hide their income, and usually they hide as much do they take as lawers and phisicians, you never know how many patients per day do theyr have, ok but it is again the mistake of the goverment, they shoud make controlling offices, to check everything for to have order. Sometimes they had it in 70 th and 80th… As about laziness, this is fairytales, I saw greeks working, it's not true about laziness, at least not for all nation.

Greece need "Putin" character of president, and to press bankirs to pay the debt as Putin does in Russia. It is more honborable to solve economic problems with oligarhs, than with pensioners, by cutting their stuff. Just grate shame for a such goverment.

@palomas9 If Greece "lied" about finances as you say, what about Romani and Bolgaria with 100 euro per month. What are you telling about Lol? Geece is able to pay debt, just the Goverment is to coward to "press" bankirs to pay for the debt. The banks interests in Greece is higher than in all the resi of Europe it is 20 %. They gain about 700.000.000 per year. And something else, germans during ww2 took the golden bank's pieces with the ammount of 560.000.000.So thereis a question, who is in debt

With all good intentions in the world they will not be able to repay their debts. Default now or have more pain later. The Greeks can't just stiff their own future generation(s) to try to keep up with the interest payments alone. This woman talks poopoo.
