For Marchesa designers, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, inspiration for their Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection came from the seventeeth century painting: “Portrait of Maria Teresa de Vallabriga on Horseback,” by Francisco de Goya. Deconstruction of corsets and riding coats put forth some looks that were just right while others should, perhaps, remain back in the day of Mr. Goya. However, with the rich colors, intricate floral detailing and size of some of the dresses, it was hard not to take your eyes away from this collection during New York Fashion Week.
