The British House of Commons has been debating whether or not “in principle” to support foreign military intervention in Syria following an alleged chemical attack.
Prime Minister David Cameron put forward his case for why Britain should step in: “The President of the United States, Barack Obama, he is a man who opposed the action in Iraq, no-one could in any way describe him as a president who wants to involve America in more wars in the Middle East. But he profoundly believes that an important red line has been crossed in an appalling way and that is why he supports action in this case”.
Cameron had originally recalled MPs to vote on an immediate military strike in Syria. After learning Labour would vote against the motion, he was forced to adapt it, saying he would wait for the report from UN inspectors before holding a second vote.
Labour says it wants to see “compelling evidence” that the Assad regime was responsible for chemical warfare, and said weapons inspectors must be given more time.
Labour leader, Ed Milliband told parliament: “Let them conclude their work for four days and then we will have to analyse scientifically with experts and then we will have to report to the security council for action, so the weapons inspectors are in the midst of their work and will be reporting in the next few days, that is why today could not have been the day when the house was asked to decide on military action.”

However Labour MPs said shortly before the debate that they would still vote against the government.
It’s believed up to 70 Tory MPs say they are “yet to be persuaded” by the coalition’s case for military action.
A second parliamentary vote on British involvement in military action will probably not happen until at least early next week, after the UN’s weapons inspectors have published their report into last week’s alleged “gas attack”.

Hmmm..you seem to show an awful lot of anger hatred towards them. I wonder what a man of peace like yourself would suggest to stop the killing in Syria.

And if they did use it? I see you expending energy in denouncing any thing announced so far. That's fair enough. Not a smidgen of a solution as to how to stop it if Assad is doing what we think he's doing. In fact just give us an iota of how to stop this if it turns out that Assad is using chemical warfare.

How dare you even suggest that anyone is defending this regime. It's simply that cooler, rational minds have opposed the Conservative morons in starting a potential war that may simply add to the misery, that may have no effect on the regime and may help the rebels, many of whom are Islamic radicals. If you want to look at a city in Syria that has been liberated, look at Raqqa, where jihadist thugs are now in control.

This is a victory for democracy and, more importantly, common sense. Did the conservative morons really think that they could start a war because they thought it was "likely" that the Assad regime carried out the chemical attack? The British left-wing rightly opposed it, and I'm glad that we're not wasting money on action that could help jihadists. There is no guarantee that action would have deterred the regime either – if they did carry out the attack next to the UN, they're clearly mad enough

a room almost entirely full of sociopaths! Murderers publically displaying their unquenchable thirst to hurt, kill and harm people… desperately self justifying their murderous intent to step up the killing and carnage. Cameron's voice rises in excitement at the prospect of action. Loudly declaring his immense desire to kill more immediately. He can't start soon enough! He'll probably begin whipping a small unfortunate child as soon as he leaves the room

I think we (Britain) have enough problems closer to home to focus our attention on , rather than worrying about whats going on elsewhere. No doubt that the use of chemical weapons is a no no but our government has to prioritise. I like how for example, there is talk of British military intervention, yet there is an ongoing issue with spending cuts and military redundancies (one problem closer to home).
