The EU is pushing the People of Ireland and Northern Ireland into another bloody conflict! Ireland should leave the EU, that has brought austerity and ruin to too many Irish People!

I love how the EU are using NI as a weapon against the rest of the U.K. No one cared about the border to begin with, but all of a sudden they do because they know the U.K. will not budge. Pathetic.

There are two solution, either accept what the EU proposes because you can't just access the one market without the 4 freedoms, or just leave and have borders including Northern Ireland.

I don't think the EU actually has any leverage. Northern Ireland is British territory. Doesn't matter if the Good Friday Agreement has the seal of the United Nations on it. Indeed, that's what this is all about – that international treaties do not override national sovereignty. So here's my scenario. Britain just leaves. But if they are smart, they don't build a wall along the border. It's mostly Catholics that live in the border regions, so don't poke them in the eye with a sharp stick. On the other hand, if this is all about national identity and national sovereignty and border control…how can the UK NOT build a wall? And what would Scotland do if they saw the UK relax their grip on Northern Ireland? Lastly, if I were an EU negotiator, I would realize I have all the cards. In this world, size counts. The EU's economy is 19 trillion to the UK's 3 trillion. The EU could just freeze the UK out.

In 1998, Britain and Ireland negotiated the Good Friday Agreement to end 30 years of violence in Northern Ireland over whether it should stay British or join the Irish republic to the south.

That ended controls along the 500-km (300-mile) land border and set up all-Ireland rules and institutions that make Northern Ireland special within the United Kingdom. Brexit means the north also leaving the EU, possible new checks along the border and different trade rules that could inflame tensions once more.

This treaty was sponsored by the USA and is lodged with the United Nations. The EU has funded the Institutions set up for the past 20 years.

If you look at the demographics you will see the counties which has the border in its Southern or Western border are predominantly Irish Nationalist, who never wanted to be co-opted into the UK in the first place.

The situation for the last 20 years, where the border was invisible allowed them to ignore the fact that they were in a political entity they did not support.

If a hard border is imposed there will be huge civil unrest if not outright rebellion in the border areas.

Either keep the UK in the single market or dump the DUP. Only choices that won't crash the economy.

No borders no war. That's the idea of the EU. Why break it up and create hostility? China is a conglomerate of different ethnicities speaking different languages. Devided European countries can't efficiently compete with the Asian race, India and the Muslim world in the future. America is not a well-wisher to Europe frankly.

The Eu itself funds euronews. This is biased nonsense.

The figurehead is Naguib Sawiris, a prominent Egyptian businessman, as the controlling shareholder but Euronews receives €240 million from Brussels since it launched in 1992 — with €25.5 million pouring into its coffers in 2014, a third of the network’s budget.
