One should also not forget that the AFD has a new sister party: Bündnis Sarah Wagenknecht. A splinter group from the Left but it has accepted more or less every AFD position meaning its basically just a clone. It stole a lot of votes from AFD and the Left.

A major Problem with AFD is, that it is Trojanic Horse of Putins imperial projects. There are a lot of overlapp between CDU and AFD. Both want to use nuclear energy, allow all concepts of car engines including combustion and hybrid concepts and want to stop deindustrialization of Germany. But a big problem is that AFD is part of the "Dismantle the EU cooperative" with FPÖ, Le Pen, Salvini, Wilders, Orban, Wagenknecht, WerteUnion etc. etc., which are all for dismantleing NATO, EU and US-European partnership. All work on making european states to new Sowjet Provinces by installing Putin controlled puppet regimes. Russia does not only attempt so in Ukraine. No, Russia spreads this approach over entire EU space. Does UK have a russian puppet party ? I don't know about it. Meloni is definitive pro EU and pro NATO and Meloni supports Ukraine in their desire to become a western bound state. But AFD and all other populist rightist want to reinstall Hitler-Stalin Pact politics to suppress East Europe states from become soveraign states. And this right wing populists use anti migration sentiment to collect voters for an Anti-EU project in order of Putins Russia. Everyone educated knows this concept. And this makes EU / Western bound parties so difficult to cooperate with right wing parties. Nevertheless there are huge common interests from Pro-EU conservatists and Pro-Russia rightist parties like the AFD.

This second rise of the AfD is interesting, because at this point they have a pretty solid reputation as a far right party, so the implication is that those switching know what they are voting for. Which makes it unlikely that they will return to one of the mainstream parties at some point in the future.

AN entity is singular. If you are referring to "the people of the AfD", or "the AfD leaders", then that would be plural.

March 24, 2024 at 12:51 pm
I think the „Bündndis Sarah Wagenknecht“ (BSD) did exactly what it set out to do, which is polarize and sway some of the voters easily influenced by fearmongering. I think that her party gaining 4%, while the AfD lost 4% in polling is no coincidence. People acting like the AfD is going down because of this polling dip are just wrong. So are people who think the AfD will rebound immediately and likely win the next election.

All political parties have a peak of support they can reasonably get, unless something really weird happens. I.e the far right I think is about 20-30% of the electorate in most countries (again with a bit of variation)
I think it´s good that Wagenknecht has managed to take some of their voters away.

The "scandal" was based on lies by some Soros funded organization. It might temporarily move away some shaky hands from the party, though this happened often before and these people might come back.
And there's certainly a little bit more competition, but not only for AfD.

These losses should be attributed to the appearence of new political Parties and not the protests. These protestors are overwhelmingly leftists who dissliked the AfD and anything right of the SPD to begin with, and not the "silent majority" they are often portayed as. Germany is very split these days. Theres millions of increasingly right wing people and the same for the left.
Anonymous
March 24, 2024 at 12:51 pm
5:42 These polls are rarely accurate to the entire population and strongly depend on region. If you ask in western Berlin, 80% will disslike the AfD. If you ask in Thuringia for an example, theyd be the most supported party. Also people get labelled racist very quickly if they dont agree with the protests.

AFD is not on a decline. They declined from January to February but for the last month their support has stabilized and actually most recent polls show they went up again. If you want to talk about a parties who on the decline, Greens and SPD are on the decline as both are polling the lowest in over 3 years and have been on the decline for last few years.

I, Hunt, what I think.
In Europe and in the West as a whole, today there is no such sociological criterion as the sociology of European consciousness. Since the sociology of consciousness of European ethnic groups of the human race, today in the West, is completely crushed by the social stench of Jewish consciousness.
I do not presume to assert that Europe, today again, has plunged into the medieval social stench of the Jewish consciousness, but the fact that Europe already reeks of social shit is obvious, yes, so far, Europe reeks, not of the social stench of the Jewish consciousness: Putin, Macron, Hitler, Pidorlein, Zelensky, Goebbels…
Even, the data from the Ministry of Health of England, that today 32% of His Majesty's subjects affected by scabies mite (itch), say a lot. If Europeans, like Jews, continue not to wash for forty days, then it will come to typhus in Europe, and possibly to the plague.

The breakoff party from The Left might be good at siphoning off voters from the SPD and Greens (voters who like the economically left policies rather than actual environmental crap) just as much as the AfD; who knows. The new party trying to sit between the CDU and AfD seems totally pointless though. i don't get it unless they're trying to sabotage both the CDU and the AfD. Just pick one or the other, already.

As a Malaysian it pleases me to see the AfD crumble…..Malaysia's Perikatan Nasional coalition is troublingly close to the AfD, and in recently years, its dominant component, the Islamist Party, had started embracing policies toward minorities not different to that espoused by the AfD and its Austrian friends.
