Cash only at the Vatican

Published

on

http://www.euronews.com/ In St. Peters Square and throughout the Vatican it is cash only. All electronic payments by bank cards have been suspended and the ‘hole in the wall’ machines are empty.

The action has been taken due to a failure to implement anti money laundering legislation. It’s a decision which has hit the thousands of visitors to the world famous Vatican Museum as one explained: “A lot of tourists don’t have cash on them, so they have to get euros and don’t know where to get them.”

The suspension is also in force in the shops of the world’s tiniest state. Sources from the Bank of Italy have been quoted as saying the Vatican has not yet reached international standards in the fight against money laundering.

“An EU member country must respect certain laws and legislations to prevent money-laundering, and therefore such laws must be applied also to a country that is non-European, like the Vatican. If these rules are not followed, the Bank of Italy can refuse to give them authorisation,” explained lberto Sodini an accountant and business consultant.

Deutsche Bank Italia which handles the bank card payments across the Vatican have been ordered to deactivate all its terminals. A spokesman for the Vatican said the interruption should be short and that it is talking to other providers.

Yes, I agree. The more I discover, the more bleak the world looks. I do have hope, and believe that something is in the works to remedy our current situation. The Governments know what's going on, and may be somewhat aligned with the "dark side", however, there are forces out there that are more powerful then they are willing to admit. This may be the year that hope begins to get restored around the globe. By "hope", I don't mean it to be tied to a previous campaign slogan.

speaking from my own experience of waking up in increments I wouldn't want to be one of those who don't suspect what's really going on and then get hit over the head with it all at once, it's been heartbreaking to find this stuff out, esp. corruption in the entertainment industry that creates fertile ground for mass deception, all my pop artist heroes are gone, no more rock stars, no more favorite actors – they've all sold out for fame and a paycheck, that's why they're all drug addicts…

Some people may go nuts (I mean really coocoo) if the true evil was revealed, and it happened to be the same thing they whole heartedly believed to be honest and good. I think I would prefer to wait till after my life on this earth is finally over before that if revealed. I don't know what would be worse, the evil, or the millions/billions of people who finally discover the wolves in sheeps' clothing, LOL

we can only hope… for now the evil quotient on the planet seems to be dominating BIG TIME. I do think the veils are dropping however… it's just that most people don't WANT to see.

sooner or later they will have to answer to somebody. Maybe not in this life's physical sense, but maybe in an afterlife. Karma may very well get the best of all those "good guys". Some people say Karma is a real Bitch when is slaps you in the face!

Yea right. You wonder money by buying souvenirs in the Vatican shops or candles in the churches. The jews continue screwing with the Christians now – 2000years strong.

Anyone wonder why Washington DC, London and the Vatican are all sovereign city-states within sovereign countries? Me too.
