The Irish and British governments agreed, under the 1998 Belfast Agreement, that the status of Northern Ireland will not change without the consent of a majority of its population.[1] In its white paper on Brexit, the United Kingdom government reiterated its commitment to the Belfast Agreement. With regard to Northern Ireland's status, it said that the UK Government's "clearly-stated preference is to retain Northern Ireland's current constitutional position: as part of the UK, but with strong links to Ireland".[2]

It would be foolish for the EU to trust Johnson and the UK. The Lies out of London this week were the last straw. But the EU knows that, thank goodness.

In German law, no German – including the government – has to comply with any international law that contravenes the German constitution. Consequently, Germany and Germans frequently break international law because their domestic law says they have to break it in some circumstances. If Germans see international law as the highest from of law – and many German governments/politicians say they do – then why don't they change their constitution every time something is enacted in international law that their constitution precludes? I suggest it may have something to do with sovereignty. What Johnson has done is not unusual in jurisdictions around the world. Whether it was politically and diplomatically sensible to do this right now is a totally different question.

The EU wants the UK to sign up to state-aid rules which it doesn't follow itself.
Germany has just bailed out Lufthansa.

The EU essentially wants to separate Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom in order to teach any other nation wanting to leave that the EU will seriously damage them. The EU has become a dictatorial state, a 19th Century French and 20th Century German, dream of a Superstate led by the Germans and French peoples dictating wealth for them and poverty for the southern Europeans and the rest of the world. They will lie and cheat and steal and even work against their own people's will and choices in order to keep the power in the hands of the elites and rich. Any nation with an actual free vote by the people will soon want to escape the EU's bosses. Ireland, escape while you can and come join the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdom. I know you have a strong dislike for the British, but don't starve your people of inexpensive food and drink just to hate the British. And think of the JOBS. The EU rules will soon not allow you to set your own tax rates and rules that attracted so many new companies to Ireland. I am in California and my Grandmother's family were Tenants (last name) from Ireland. America and the west are free. The EU to the east is hidebound and controlling. Be free and join us.

Lol. It's not though is it. The conservatives have an 80 seat majority, precisely because we'd rather just leave without a deal than let the eu have any more say in our business.

Yes EU. Honour what you promised. A free trade Agreement. If you don't mean any underhand motives on Northern Ireland you could find no objection to the Bill proposed by UK parliament.

Oooh dear Euronews… who funds you again ? Like I always say we're not expecting a low rating fake news from France to be fair on UK media coverage. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. EU made the little French, fearful Irish, viking Danes and ducht cheese eaters all voted twice in their referendums until it suits the eu interest. Not UK mate. Now fack off. Ooh and I hope you'll support SHETLAND AND ORKNEY ISLANDS as they prepare for independence from Scotland🙋🏽‍♂️

He approved because the remain traitors in parliament tied his hands in the negotiations. Otherwise he would never have signed it. The EU have no right to rule over the UK when were not a member. EU hypocrisy stinks and Boris and his government should tell the EU to stay out of the UK's business
