http://www.FashionTV.com/videos WORLD – FashionTV features hairstyle trends from the runways of Spring/Summer 2012. Trends like ponytails were common at shows like Blumarine, Versus, Emilio Pucci. A braid turns into a ponytail at Rue Du Mail and the look at Viktor & Rolf is a graphic and elongated pony. Buns and updos were seen at shows like Missoni, Chanel, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Marni, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Natural hair was seen at Chloe, Versace, and Sonia Rykiel while glamorous wet look spoke volumes at Costume National, Lanvin, Roland Mouret, Alberta Ferretti, Elie Saab, Prada, and Giambattisa Valli.

“The hair is like, really simple,”says model Melodie Monrose of the hair at Blumarine, which is also a little bit retro on top. “It’s a ponytail with a little height in the back. She’s modern, she’s light, she’s fresh.” adds Hairstylist Sam McKnight. At Versus, the hair is wind blown, but classy, according to model Maria Bradley. “It’s a very low ponytail and at the last minute we pull it up,” adds Versus Hairstylist Paul Hanlon. Versus models look like they’ve been outside running. Hairstylist Luigi Murenu says the hair at Emilio Pucci has great texture with a chic, low ponytail. At Rue Du Mail, Eugene Soleiman says he braided the hair so it was flat to the head and then worked it into a straight ponytail, which looks like a thin horse’s tail. The ponytail at Viktor & Rolf created by Hairstylist Luigi Murenu is very low and tied at the last moment, creating a graphic look with ends cut really sharp.

Missoni and Chanel had messy tucked in buns created out of ponytails and Roberto Cavalli’s look created by Hairstylist Guido Palau is an easy updo out of damp hair that is twisted with one pin and roughed up a little bit. Tiaras give the hair some glamour. Gucci and Louis Vuitton also have updos. Magdalena Frackowiak says the hair at Fendi is very futuristic with a 60s vibe. “She has high hair, and we’re going to destroy it a bit when she goes on the runway,” adds Fendi’s Hairstylist Sam McKnight. The Marni hair by Hairstylist Paul Hanlon is like a French twist but done much lower and very spontaneously. The idea at Jean Paul Gaultier was to make the girls look Imperia Royal, from the 40s with large curls in front and a tight bun in the back. “When you look at it, it’s almost science fiction,” says Jean Paul Gaultier.

Loose waves cascaded down around models’ faces at shows like Sonia Rykiel and Versace. The glamorous wet look was enhance at Costume National by Paul Hanlon’s idea to lightly crimp the hair. Wet waves were seen at Roland Mouret and Lanvin, where Guido Palau combed the hair with his fingers. Palau also created the shiny, flat hair at Alberta Ferretti. The look at Elie Saab is fresh and young with a side part, scraping it back and adding soft waves, according to hairstylist Orlando Pita. Prada also has a side part and Giambattista Valli hair is scraped back as if the models emerged out of water.
