Hmm, don't know how much I agree with this video's assertions. First and foremost using 'zangezur corridor' as the nomenclature for it is neither appropriate nor accurate. Following that up with the assertion that opening the route under pressure seems to be working without providing any evidence of this taking place is incorrect as well. Like seriously, I'd dearly appreciate them sharing where this can be seen, since as it stands we haven't had any discussion on this route for a few weeks now. Also it's funny how Iran resisting against the route is framed as just 'upsetting' Armenia, and not the fact that it risks further eroding Armenian sovereignty especially given the latest flare-ups at the border due to the Azeris.
Don't know what's up with this video, normally tldr europe does a better job of depicting local developments, even if it's done with a euro perspective

Scale down 30 year invasion. It was a simple invasion. Karabag is less than 10% of Azerbaijan. Invaded territory was larger than 20% of Azerbaijan. Armenia invade more than twice Karabag. All land to west and south of Karabag and significant land to east.
Actually, it was worse than Russian invasion of Ukraine. All land Russia invaded is Russian majority. Armenia invaded more than twice the region with ethnic Armenian population.

Seems this more involves Turkey arranging trade, pipelines, & organization, but Russia seemed aware & okay so long as Caucasus maintained peace, always formidable task despite a region known for tenuous relations & occasional conflict that prolly involves global participants beyond the region. Not long ago, there was a conference which provide consideration for those nations mentioned Azerbaijan & Armenia. Was this another aspect ultimately contribute toward the BRI?

Too many mistakes and incorrect information in this video:
– the Gyumri Russian base in Armenia never played a role regarding Nagorno-Karabakh. After the 2020 war (pre-Ukraine invasion), Russia sent “peacekeepers” to NK to “pevent” further escalation in the conflict. However, in 2023, when Azerbaijan restarted aggressions, the entire +100,000 Armenian population of NK escaped into Armenia.
– the “Zangezur corridor” does not exist and has never existed. It is a term made up by Azerbaijan and its lobbyist post-2020 war. When they use the term corridor they want to annex Armenian sovereign territory to have a land connection between Nakhijevan and Baku for the ultimate goal of a connected Turkic world.
– Azerbaijan remains a Russian proxy, continuing to sell Russian energy to Europe masked as its own sources.
Regarding Georgia:
– the war between Georgia and Russia was not because of a failure of demarcation. It was because Russia remains an imperialist power that uses conflicts in its former domains as methods of enforcing its rule. In this case Abkhazia and Ossetia against Georgia.

Why do you use belittling/derogatory language as "some sort of Turkic language". It is not "some sort of " Turkic language. These are actual Turkic people that in fact speak Turkic languages. To the point that some of them like Azerbaijani and Turkish (Turkey) are mutually intelligible.
I don't understand what benefit a social media news agency get from mocking the historical and cultural unity of a certain group of people? Is it because these Turkic people also occupy the current borders of China, Russia, Iran and they don't want a potential unity between these people. And that you have a conflicting interest? Are they shutting off the money tap if you speak in favor of the Turkic people?

Man, SO MUCH misleading stuff here. First of all, Azerbaijan is not simply asking Armenia to give access to a road, it's asking for an EXTRATERRITORIAL corridor, which would mean Armenia would cede its own sovereign land and forfeit its southern border. And just where did you all get the idea that it "seems like it's working"???? Did you not read anything about the issue before making this? The whole reason Armenia has turned to France for help is to do everything it can to PREVENT Azerbaijan from invading Armenia proper, which it has threatened to do so as to take that "corridor" by force. Jesus it's unbelievable just how badly informed this is. These are basic facts about the situation guys, it takes like 10 minutes of reading to get it right.

People living in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia must be thinking, "So the choice we've been given for a potential ally is a list with Russia, Turkiye, Iran & Israel? How do we get a better choice? I pick none of the above and choose the EU".

The only thing worse than having Russia as an enemy is having Russia as an ally.
@nbpagent
April 5, 2024 at 10:28 am
Quite a lot of problems with the video. Firstly Georgia and Russia have no borders disputes it's all about Russia's funding and arming separatist regions in Georgia and the subsequent invasion of the country twice. As for Armenia and Azerbaijan, their relationship was never good, the corridor you are referring to from my knowledge it is not being used as Armenia objects and Azerbaijan has given up so now they use a pipeline in Georgia. So the whole energy infrastructure goes from Azerbaijan to Georgia and then to Turkey.
@idraote

I think Armenia would rather have no allies at all than Turkey as an ally. Ankara's still screwing them over like they did with arming Azerbaijan and helping them eliminate Karabagh.

don't get me wrong and take into consideration that i'm not russian nationalist either but russia throughout history almost lost its influence over Caucaus but when he comes back with more bad (in negative meaning). this happens to us frequently since 1700s'. as azerbaijani i hope this would end soon but the geography is fate whatever you say

You are wrong about Russia-Azerbajian relations. In the last 4 years or so they have developed closer ties.
@streampunk6932
April 5, 2024 at 10:28 am
Russia started war with Georgia not in 2008, but in 1991.
The thing that many Caucasians don't realize is that any type of outside influence is bad. Turkey being such a close friends with Azerbaijan is farce and this relation is barely 20 years old. Iran having good relations with Armenia is also a farce, meanwhile, I think Georgia doesn't even want to be located where it is located, no relations with Russia, close to no relations with Iran, and pragmatic relations with Turkey. Every larger player is playing their games, it was like that 1000 years ago, 100 years ago, and it is the same today. But, Turkey and Iran have chance to become better, both need to throw away this wannabe Islamist rules, especially, Turkey, but I assume that's gonna die with Erdogan and he just lost elections, without Erdogan Turkey has brighter future. For Iran, I have no idea, while Erdogan plays roles, Iran is really full on Islamist, no real elections, and plays darker games, so I am not sure what'll happen there
Obviously, joining the EU is another form of getting influenced, but it is not the same, Georgia is a candidate, Armenia wants to move toward the EU, while Azerbaijan still needs to solve their problems with autocracy, but I know a lot of young and smart Azeris from Europe who want Azerbaijan in the EU. And I believe Caucasus nations are very important for the EU, especially, for energy sector and the path to avoid both Russia and Turkey. With the EU Caucasian countries will have opportunities to develop so much that local big boy influence won't have the same effect, I believe that's the best outcome for the region, but obviously many will disagree with me, and fate is also pretty much always against the Caucasian people, as well as Europe largely being very weak today, mostly diplomatically, they became a punching bag for everyone for not really standing up against Russia…
