Russia called upon to put pressure on rebels at Ukraine crisis talks in Berlin
Foreign ministers from Germany, France, Russia, and Ukraine have announced some progress at urgent talks in Berlin on the crisis in eastern Ukraine.
A procedure for the withdrawal of heavy weapons from a demarcation line has been proposed which should establish security zones between pro-Russian fighters and Kyiv’s forces.
Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeir spoke for his colleagues:

The difference between pro russian and russian is the the difference of the two sides of the same coin. Calling russia to pressure the separatists is an oxymoron.

Before the new offensive Ukraine was to show up a week ago for peace talks in Minsk. No show. Then the offensive, where they lost the airport, and that's according to their own heroic war criminals Azov battalion. Finnaly a request for peace by Ukraine, because of their heavy military losses. But if "asking Russia to back off", keeps this ever unbelivable narrative going for some, so be it."
