Court frees Demjanjuk after finding him guilty
A court in Munich has freed 91-year-old John Demjanjuk just hours after finding him guilty of being an accessory to mass murder during his time at the Sobibor concentration camp in Poland and sentencing him to five years in jail. He was released because of his advanced age.
Ukraine-born Demjanjuk has always maintained he was drafted into the Soviet Army in 1941 before becoming a German prisoner of war, then given a choice; death or becoming a camp guard.

The video got it wrong. He claimed he never was a guard. Note reports on his saga vary wildly. Going back, the corruption against him is evident.
Why was he charged? Could be mistaken identity or likely Soviets started it by using him as a propoganda tool. Also, he "lied" upon immigration to escape Operation Keelhaul. Soviet prisoners of war were sent back to Russia. Because he also was in an anti-Soviet Russian army, he would have been executed.

Just like you said! His sentance was overturned when he died. Because he was waiting for appeal trial. Final verdict Innocent – No criminal record. About the only media that reported this was Haaretz. The dubious actions of the courts were reported throughout the years. But were omitted or twisted in the summaries later on.

He claimed he never was a guard. Only proof against him were ID cards supplied by Soviets; of which certain experts (including FBI) said looked forged. I don't know for sure whether he was innocent. But the 35 year saga had a mountain of controversy. Some say it was the biggest twisting of justice.

5 'eye witnesses' pointed in that man's face and swore to heaven he was somebody he wasn't. Then, like dogs after a fox, they pursued him home, and saw to it that he had no home. Then they took him sick, tired a stranger in a strange land and punished him for who he was.
There is no forgiveness or forgetting in that 'stiff-necked' people. Only remembering and a price for all to pay.
Almost sounds like a Bible story.

i don't understand why this man who was a prisoner of war is being charged for crimes by those who imprisoned him. some jewish people were forced to assist in the camps, w/killing and i'm sure they aren't being charged. not to mention America allowed nazi scientists to continue working for our "team". I could see this being an issue if the man was not a prisioner of war, but he was obviously enlisted in the soviet military which lead to being a nazi prisioner, he didn't enlist in the ss.

Released because of his advanced age? What a crock of shit, how many people were released from Sobibor because of advanced age?
