Communist Cuba opens luxury shopping mall in Havana
The expensive Western consumer goods on display do not provide an image normally associated with Cuba. However they are on sale in the heart of old Havana: the communist island has opened its first luxury shopping mall since the 1959 revolution.
One pair of fashion trainers had a price tag of $268 US; to buy them would mean two and a half years of saving for an ordinary Cuban – assuming they spend nothing on anything else.

EU countries issued nearly 4 million first residence permits to non-EU citizens in 2025, mainly for work and family reunification.
Spain led the way, while the total number of valid permits across the EU reached a record 27.8 million.

Cuatro millones al año. La infraestructura de ese país no puede soportar mucho … Y todo en CUC. En 2017 me quedé dos semanas, no dos meses. Demasiados turistas (cubanos) (estadounidenses) y tiempos de espera demasiado largos para obtener dinero en un banco y en una tarjeta de Internet. La vieja Cuba ya no es lo mismo que en 2015.
