Sarkozy denies Gaddafi funding allegations

http://www.euronews.com/ French President Nicolas Sarkozy has angrily denied accusations, during a live television interview, that he received money from deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to fund his first election campaign.

The claims, reported in news website Mediapart, allege that the Libyan regime donated 50 million euros.

“If he had funded it then I haven’t been very grateful,” responded Sarkozy who was reminded by the interviewer that Gaddafi’s son Saif al Islam had made the allegations.

“I’m not sure that he makes a good witness.
Gaddafi, who is known for talking nonsense, has even said that there were cheques. Well ask his son to present them,” added Sarkozy.

In March 2011 during an interview with euronews, Gaddafi’s son claimed that Sarkozy’s 2007 campaign had been funded by his father.

“Sarkozy must repay Libya the money he took for his election campaign. We financed it. We have all the details and we are ready to publish them.  The first thing we ask of this clown Sarkozy is that he repay this money to the Libyan people. We helped him become president so that he would help the Libyan people but he has disappointed us.  And very soon we will publish all the details,” said Gaddafi.

Saif al-Islam was captured in November 2011 trying to leave Libya following the fall of the regime and his father’s death.

There is confusion over whether he will face trial in Libya or at the International Criminal Court in the Hague on charges of crimes against humanity.

Pulled a Kennedy here? …"Have not been very grateful…" a gross understatement, take his money ( JFK "borrowed from shadey characters too) and take him out and steal the gold (W/ Brits n US ?), all indicative of the desperate measures "Western Cap Nations" will go to to inusre there existance, (in this case, againnst the most prosperous and progressive nation in Afiric (while All 3rd worlders and others must mainiain a brutal secret police force, G. included) but an unfortunatly unstainable strat that will fold eventually.

    Wake up World!!!!!!
Civilized nations like France could be easily invaded and controlled unexpectedly by uncivilized nations like Libya by bribing the leaders Governors …..of the civilized nations.
This is visible and observable fact. The other uncivilized nations probably already controlled directly/indirectly/invisibly.
    Right?

$50 million in cash, they carried in suitcases, thats a lot of suitcases!,
i guess becoming president like in america is not cheap, and when their is so much money involved (no matter what) sport, politics, movies, music, than corrupt is never far behind!, cause, cheese attracts a rat, and a lot of cheese attracts a lot of big rats!.
so trump payed facebook and the russians to become president, sarkozy got payed by ghaddafi, so that is weird in it self isnt it,
what did gaddafi buy?? is the question, iam guessing for $50M france doesnt matter bending over i guess hahaah!..

but ye, if so much money is involved in elections , sports, music, whatever than u know a % will be corruption and fraud and "black" money, that is why in the tour the france (and all sports with a lot of money) they use doping, if winning means getting $5M and losing means getting $50k than cheating becomes almost a "must do" dont it, and same with politics, and everything else!..

    winning is not everything!!!
    but losing is nothing!

Sarkozy is scumbag who acted like he supported. Help convinced Gaddafi to cut back on his military making. Then turns around and bombs Libya. I'm a American and I don't support what America and Europe has done to the eastern countries.

What drugs you are taking? Russian Satellites had proved that Gaddafi never bombed/killed any of his people, the fake videos made by US/UK were false, because the homes/people who were claimed to be demolished by them are alive and well, These bastards(US,UK) even blocked there internet so that they can't speak truth until Gaddafi is caught. How pathetic it is?

He was the Best Leader Ever, So go read some books and watch real vids/news, instead of making up lies.

@rudy032190 We now know that the reports of Gaddafi killing people were all claims without any evidence. There HAD NOT been 10,000 people killed in Benghazi by Gaddafi's government during the uprising (as the NTC claimed), but 110 killed on BOTH sides prior to NATO's attack. The massgrave with 1200 killed by Gaddafi that was found contained only bones from one – and that was a camel.

@rudy032190 Gaddafi was not a dictator – that is psyops. He preached in writings and speech what Libya adhered to since 1976: a direct democracy, where ALL Libyan people regularly meet, discuss and decide every issue. After 1976 Gaddafi did not rule neither direct nor indirect. He was then a teacher and lecturer, leader of the revolution, but not leader of Libya. Libya enjoyed over 2000 congresshalls were ALL Libyans regular came together, discussed and decided every issue and legalization. Li

@exiquio If I called you names I apologize, it's just unfathomable to me that somebody could support him. Of course he probably is responsible for doing some productive things (most dictators are) but for the most part he is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people and ruled as a dictator for over 30 years! He should not be celebrated.
