UPDATE: Since we wrote and animated this video, Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has announced he's considering resigning, blaming a “harassment and bullying operation” by his political opponents after a court launched a corruption investigation into his wife. This doesn't really affect or undermine the gist of the video, but at 4:25 we do describe Sanchez as a political "survivor", which now looks, well, a bit silly, even if it's still sort of true. Anyway, we hope you enjoyed the video nonetheless!

I usually really like your videos, but you have a major economic mistake here.
consumption does not directly contribute to growth, as the growth is generated from producing new goods which are sold domestically or abroad.

The only thing that explains the reduction in Spanish public deficit is the constant and agressive increase of all sort of taxes. And yes, tourism is the reason why millions of Spaniards still eat every day.

  19. @Carlos-wv3yj

    April 26, 2024 at 8:12 am

    Spain growth explined:

    1. Spain has a really cheap energy due to renewable energies and its industry is increasing.
    2. Spain has acces to a luxury immigration from his former ex colonies such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico etc which gave Spain immigrants that hasn't to be integrated in society because they speak the same language, have the same religion and culture. Not like North African countries that governments spended thousands of euros trying to integrate them.
    3. Spain is the second most touristical country on earth after France what gave them a huge amount of money every year.
    4. The well invested European million of euros from the next generation founds in green energies, green hydrogen and technology.
    5. The normalization of the situation in Catalonia. That's actually a really important factor because Spain only works well with the balance and growth of Madrid and Barcelona.

video failed to address spains high unemployment rate, very high youth unemployment rate and fact that purchases of properties by forgers is stimulating their economy, if anything would happen to this sector spain would face same problems as it did in 2008. Plus spain is buying flooded with non natives that vote only socialist. This video CHERRY PICKED facts

  21. @manuel_ao

    April 26, 2024 at 8:12 am

You compensated the inaccurate video about the nationalists. And yes, Sanchez is a survivor and my bet is that he won't resign next Monday and this is just a strategy for his allies to rally round the flag (himself).
