Scenes: Meet the inventor saving the lives of pregnant women across Uganda
As a young girl, Phyllis Kyomuhendo knew that someday she wanted to save lives. She worked hard to get into medical school and quickly realised radiology was her calling.
“Radiology was a great marriage between saving lives and dealing with machines,” she recalls.
During her placement as a student in rural Uganda, Phyllis couldn’t help but feel frustrated as she watched women die from preventable conditions undiagnosed due to the lack of equipment.

French Foreign minister Laurent Fabius is handed a draft climate agreement which politicians at the Paris “COP21”:http://www.cop21paris.org/ conference will now get to work on to produce a final pact on slowing down global warming.

I have seen device like that at least 10 years ago. The only difference was tens of thousands of $ price tag. They may get hit hard with some patent violation court cases. No matter if deserved or not, it can get expensive. There should be a system in place pushing through life saving designs. This would also require publishing schematics and making replacement parts accessible. Right to repair.

Good news ! Kyomuhendo Phyllis and co-founder M-SCAN Uganda , wonderful work ! Uganda should be covered with Solar Panels and Batteries .
