Polish MEP launches sexist tirade in EU Parliament

Published

on

conservative politician Janusz Korwin-Mikke left the European parliament aghast at a debate on the gender pay gap in Europe when he insisted that “women must earn less because they are weaker, they are smaller, they are less intelligent. They must earn less. That is all.”

Korwin-Mikke offered some very strange evidence for his claims asking: “Do you know how many women are in the first hundred of chess players?” Before answering his own question with “I tell you – no-one”. Former chess grandmaster “Judit Polgar”:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judit_Polg%C3%A1r from Hungary might have something to say about that statement.

The 74 year-old’s comments gave way to gasps of disbelief before Spanish Iratxe Garcia-Perez took the floor to lambaste him.

How is this a tirade? He wasn't even speaking with anger. Her response is much more of a tirade.

All you need to do is interact with average women to know this

He's right. For all of human history women were pretty much considered as cattle. Men marched into cities, killed all the men and took the women as prizes. Women never had any say for all of history because history was violent and was closer to nature for humanity. It's only this day and age where we don't have to constantly worry about survival and safety that women can be regarded as equal. But the moment anarchy hits, women are back on relying on men for any necessity they need whether it's safety, protection, food etc. Women just arnt equall. They only can be once society is modernized and safe like today

Why was he cancelled for saying facts? Studies show that in average men and women tend to have the same IQ. Still with very different distribution. Men tend to overrepresent the extremes, with extremely intelligent and extremely dumb. So it should be no surprise if we have more men in top positions and better paid. Womens that are more productive should definitely be paid more and the sex here is absolutely irrelevant.

The coffin with late Queen Elizabeth II’s body travels from Buckingham Palace to Westminster through central London on a gun carriage, with the king and other royals walking behind.

It will be placed in Parliament’s medieval Westminster Hall, where the Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct a short service. The queen will then lie-in-state for four days, until the morning of her funeral. Members of the public will be able to pay their respects and troops will keep a round-the-clock vigil.
