Questions raised over Westminster security after attack

Published

on

Britain’s security level remains at “severe”, its second highest state of alert, following the Westminster terror attack.

In her address to the House of Commons on Thursday, Prime Minister Theresa May said that in the absence of any specific information as to the imminent threat of another attack, there was no reason to raise the level to its highest alert state of “critical”.

Security officials had long warned that it was a question of when, not if, an attack would be carried out in the UK.

And they finally released the assailant's name after hours and hours of incessantly reporting that he was "British born".  Well, I was shocked, simply shocked to learn that his name was not Henry, Willy or Sam, not even a Rupert or a Reggie.  But, instead, his name was Masood.  Well, I suppose that is more and more a proper British name for a boy from Kent.  At least in the Britain of the future.

Please don't put Corbyn. He is a PM hopeful and his words will obviously be biased towards the government…

An easy and VERY effective way to better the security would be to increase the number of guards and arm them with a .380 Auto (little recoil which increases accuracy, and still has enough PUNCH to stop a perpetrator if the guards are properly trained to use it).  Train the guards extensively and retrain them every 3 months — will have to have a rotation because of this.  Also have the pistols have laser sights and fingerprint signatures for firing. The real key with this type of set up is TRAINING! — Just a thought.

I'd say security worked like it should. First, a nutter runs over people with his car. There is nothing anyone could do to stop that. Second, said nutter stabs the first police man he sees and is immediately shot dead. Lone madmen attacking with what tools lie at hand are impossible to prevent. This could have been much worse.
