First Look – Dior Fall 2012 ft Karlie Kloss, Frida Gustavsson | Paris Fashion Week | FashionTV

For the makeup, Makeup Artist Pat McGrath says it was all about the girl looking “simply beautiful.” She used browns around the eyes, a little gold, lots of mascara, pink on the cheek, and gave them natural skin. “The hair is very graphic and very simple,” says Hairstylist Orlando Pita. It’s a very deep side part with a low ponytail in the back.

While the girls wear cloche hats on their head that look very 20s, the clothes themselves have 50s and 60s silhouettes and colors. Designer Bill Gaytten says he was thinking about a new look which is why they had wearable clothes with a longer length, with some skirts pleated but still structured. It was back to the classics for Dior, with a ballerina ambiance. A houndstooth print was inspired by the haute couture collection, but it was softened here. Girls were feminine to the hilt, but with tougher menswearish fabrics like leather.
