Barroso takes the testimony box in Dalli bribery situation
Outgoing European Commission head of state José Manuel Barroso is to provide proof at the EU’s leading court over a cigarette lobbying rumor.
Barroso will certainly be a witness in a situation brought by previous health and wellness commissioner John Dalli.
The Maltese left his task in October 2012 amidst accusations his partners looked for kickbacks from a Swedish cigarette company in return for adjustments to EU regulation.
Dalli desires courts at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg to terminate Barroso’s demand that he tip down.
