The billion-dollar motorway leading Montenegro to nowhere

Published

on

Montenegro is building one of the most expensive highways in the world. It is financed by a loan from China. Its tourism-based economy is being crushed by the pandemic making the already difficult loan impossible to pay back and the motorway still isn’t finished.

Of COURSE it's a fraud. EVERYTHING that the Chinese do is to effectively take over other countries. Giving up sovereignty of land? What a stupid thing for Montenegro to sign up to. Who was the person that agreed to that? Name them. Whose signature is on that contract? And arbitration in China under Chinese law? Wow, how naive.

The West is Blind !! The Chinese aren't just building roads to conquer Europe !!! For years they have been building nice new Capitals for 3rd World countries, and forcing these countries into bankruptcy. Then demanding 75% of some natural resource such as oil in Ecuador's case, for the next 99 YEARS. And the large Chinese workforce doesn't go home, it commandeers all the nice new apartment blocks, as in Tanzania (another Chinese army in waiting ?) The West is totally blind !!!!

This is so much EU centric. So much propaganda here. Chinese wanted to expand their sphere of interest so they did. It was up to politicians to make sure money is well spent. As far as I know EU for many years is giving money to completely corrupted governments in Hungary and Poland. How about democratic/EU standards over there? You don't care right because these countries are already in the EU sphere. She says EU environmental standards. Well Montenegro isn't in the EU so these standards don't apply to them. Chinese gave a risky loan if they didn't steal road would be built like in many places in Africa.

this motorway will not be beneficial for Montenegro and is likely to be detrimental, if the next phase of construction to the Bar Port and Boljare Border is not carried out

Bar Port from the outset was designed to meet the logistical needs of Yugoslavia, NOT just Montenegro

What a stupid video. Oh the poor river.. All I see is the cleanest river ever. Have you ever seen the French canals and rivers. Toxic. Mud does not hurt fish. You cannot build on this scale without some disruption. Anti China propaganda. Many countries are begging for big infrastructure loans and only China has money. That EU as well as USA are also bankrupt and if you think the IMF won't squeeze the last drop of blood out of you, then you are very naive. Yes, it will cost Montenegro a lot to finish the highway but the they will actually have an economy and connection to the world. It is not in China's interest to bankrupt countries. They are all future clients. The best thing that could happen is indeed for the Chinese to own and develop the port. Cost the Montenegrins nothing and they get a world class facility in a very short time. Ask the Greeks if they are happy with their new port.

7:28 sign says “Please keep this area clear” and the woman reads for the ease to make her point “please keep this area clean”. Clear and clean are two different things. Keep clear is just not to park materials (on a pallet for example) and vehicles there. So keeping it clear does not automatically translate to keeping it clean.
