Published

on

A death row inmate in Oklahoma suffered a prolonged execution after the lethal injection failed to work as expected.

Clayton Lockett, 38 suffered a vein collapse, which prevented the cocktail of three drugs from taking their full effect.

The execution was halted and prison officials pulled the curtain across to prevent witnesses seeing Lockett’s discomfort.

The law demands witnesses are present to see the sentence carried out:

“At he was still lifting his shoulders and head grimacing. And h…

Lethal injections are not humane. Regardless of what the person has done, if they're meant to die, I think gunshot to the head works quicker. Nobody has to witness grimacing or painful excruciating pain from the inmate.

Is the pattasium chloride same as that of given in the plant and tree roots?? If the firsts two drugs are not given in lethan then how much painful it will cause for lether for only the potassium choloride.

must be the same anesthesia he used on his victim before he killed him/her.  Oh wait.   He didn't use any.   Guess he got a taste of his own medicine…pain.  O darn.

Why are they waiting 14 days to execute the other prisoner? What.. do we want to make sure he get's executed humanly? How about we a pass a new law. If the criminal kills the victim humanly, he shall receive the same punishment.. if not.. INTO THE MEAT GRINDER!

If executions were more violent and watched publicly, maybe all the jacked up crap in this world would stop!

bullets are cheaper and take less time.   plus bullets aren't cruel and/or unusual.  they're made to do one thing…. kill.

It seems inhumane to make it a spectators sport.

I think each guilty of murderer should die exactly the way their victim dies same way same manner

Well maybe this'll make people think twice before shooting somebody

His victim was shot and buried alive, but our constitution forbids cruel and unusual punishment for prisoners. I guess it was put in the constitution, because the forefathers remembered the torture dungeons that were used in Europe back in the day. I'm no Muslim by any means, but sometimes that eye for an eye thing they do under Sharia seems to be what some of these monsters like this guy deserve.

They accidentally killed him while trying to execute him? Too bad he wasn't in that prison decades ago, because they had the electric chair back in the 70's when my Dad worked there as a prison psychologist. Back in the 80's there was a riot in this prison and several guards were taken hostage and one of them was castrated and another had one of his eyes gouged out with an ice pick. Personally, I think they should do away with prisons and execute all of the murderers, rapists, and child molesters. They should open up work camps for the thieves and have them work and pay restitution to their crime victims.

firing squad i hope it comes back and when we get jury duty we get to get firing squad duty too

    May 18, 2024 at 8:42 am

" He appeared to be in stress" who cares if he suffered, the people he killed suffered!  The only way that a execution be botched if the person lived.

    May 18, 2024 at 8:42 am

We need to make this process less complicated and and cheaper.
I say brig back firing squads.
Just take them out back and shoot them.
Easy as pie, no suffering involved.

  20. @Davethepickleman

    May 18, 2024 at 8:42 am

They should go back to a firing squad. Single bullet to the head. But, at least he suffered – karma baby… karma.

    May 18, 2024 at 8:42 am

Am not a fan of the death sentence..but let's be realistic if that was my 9 month daughter who was raped or my wife or sister or daughter was shot and buried alive.. fuck that !..death sentence is a fair result and  if that was one of my family i would have watched this fucker die slow with a bucket of popcorn and 3D glasses

  22. @MichelLinschoten

No biggie, he was a convicted murderer.
He made families, suffer for an entire lifetime…

No pity from this side sorry…

Targeting Patriarch Kirill risks fuelling EU scepticism, Bulgarian foreign minister warns

Velislava Petrova-Chamova told Euronews that the EU’s sanctions against Russia should have a financial impact and not be a symbolic instrument – and that this, among other reasons, is why Sofia championed the removal of the head of Russia’s Orthodox Church from the 21st sanctions package.

China’s economic growth hits slowest pace in more than three years

China’s economy grew 4.3% year on year in the second quarter, its weakest pace since late 2022, as weak domestic demand and a prolonged property downturn outweighed strong exports, increasing pressure on Beijing to provide more economic support.
