Majority of Germans think UK will not benefit long term from Brexit, Euronews survey reveals
Nearly 60% of respondents in Germany said Brexit would not provide the UK with any long-term benefits. Just 30% of French people surveyed thought the same.

But they will benefit from it as UK has trade deficit with EU in goods and trade surplus in services with EU could not cover that deficit. On the other hand UK has major trade surplus in trade with non EU countries mostly from trade of services. Add EU fees and fishing sector and you will see that they would be better.

UK voted leave and our own peoples opinion is the only one that matters since our politicians are there to represent us (not the entire world)

The UK will have an initial economic shock but things will stabilise, however the Eurozone is in deep trouble unless the EU makes radical reforms soon.

The funny thing that it was Thatcher that pushed Germany into the most favourable position in the EU thanks to the unified Euro currency. As a German I see the responsibility to look out for Southern Europe, we can not keep outcompeting them on a daily basis, we have to help them to develop their economy more.

UKs belief it can shield itself from Europes (or US for that matter) longtime relative decline by severing integration with it is a false belief. If you can not shift the whole UK geographically to Asia it will remain in Europe and itś destiny will be linked to it.
