Seoul Halloween crush: 120 killed and 100 hurt in South Korea disaster
South Korean officials and social media reports said earlier that dozens of people were in cardiac arrest after severe overcrowding during Halloween festivities in the capital.

President Barack Obama has come out swinging on day three of the US government shutdown, laying the blame for the crisis right at the feet of the Republicans. He says their obsession with killing his healthcare reforms is the only thing uniting the party at the moment, and they will sacrifice anything to kill Obamacare.
“The only thing that is keeping the Government shutdown, the only thing preventing people from going back to work… is that speaker John Boehner won’t even let the bill get a yes or no vote, because he doesn’t want to anger the extremists in his own party,” he said.
Boehner knows his Republicans are getting most of the blame right now for the shutdown, but ending it would probably cost him his job as the Tea Party faction would oust him from the Speaker’s chair.
He and his party are gambling on winning the argument over time, by insisting Obamacare is an expensive mistake America can ill afford. But time is at a premium with the vote on raising America’s debt ceiling due in two weeks time.

I was in Seoul and the crush happened and i was scared and my cousin unfortunately died in the crush 😢 i am super upset and sad right now so here is what happened: a famous singer came and everyone was super excited so they were rushing to the singer so they got crushed and my cousin was going to the singer too so she died her mom is very sad right now 😢 their were about 10 officers trying to stop them 🙁

Why does nearly every headline have to re-mention Halloween? If this happened during any other holiday, we wouldn't blame the holiday. The cause was purely poor city planning and ineffective police management of bulk pedestrian movement through the city, and has very little to do with the date.

My question is where was the crowd control by the police, here in America we have capacities for buildings and city streets but we need police to control the crowds by placing barriers at strategic spots along the way and restricting the number of people so there isn’t an incident

This incident happened in Israel în 2021 as well…. Orthodox Jewish people went to pray at an important place, and many of them we're stamped to death… children, adults, and mostly man.
This is a huge tragedy. My heart is mourning the lifeless dead bodies, who will never come back home….
I don't know what to say…. besides God bless the Living, and may the Dead Rest In Peace!!!

I've seen a more recent report that mentions more than 150 casualties. My sincere condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives and to the whole Korean nation. And I wish for a quick recovery to the injured people.
