   Southgate will be gone after this tournament, unless he wins it, and hes done the job he was needed for; resetting the mentality of squad. People are quick to criticse but seem to forget the songs being sung about him in Russia, the feel good factor in the last euros that almost matched 96 and the fact we went toe to toe with france at the last world cup, easily the strongest national team. He has ia flaws of course, but you cant say he hasn't been good for the national team.

   Why are they talking like international football is the hardest, the top leagues and champions league are higher level games. If players can handle that week in week out they are more than capable at international level

   Merson talking shite. TAA isn’t an international defender? He’s won everything in club football at right back, youngest player ever to start 3 champions league finals, multiple 90+ point premier league seasons, one of the most creative players in the history of the premier league playing as a right back. If he was that inept at defending, surely his team wouldn’t have been so successful.

   He plays for a team that chooses to sacrifice him defensively to have him play higher up the pitch because he’s so good going forward. He’s played against the best players in the world and defended resolutely.

   If you don’t want your full backs crossing the half way line then fair enough, but all modern systems dictate that full backs play higher up. Trent’s by far the best we have in that.

    The problem with our team is everything… Our tactics just are not going to work If we are playing Luke shaw Maguire and John Stones. Like they are all decent but they are not by any means reliable. Maguire and Luke Shaw had their best performance at the euros yes however it should be worrying our only goal in the 2020 euros was from our Lb. I think we are not thinking about fundamentals and we are only thinking of the most talented players. All our talents are attacking minded even Declan Rice and the defence are pretty attacking the only people on our team who aren't attacking is Maguire and stones. The fact is England can create chances but can we score them? I think we are adding too much talent if that makes sense mainly because we are just adding attacking players because they are good. Where is England's defence? our midfield is not going to be able to control the middle as I said different players have different meanings for a team. Like people such as Paul Scholes in the day was really slow but he made up for it physically and the passes he could make. We don't just need a squad full of insane talents we need a balanced team we can rely on. The fact is when harry Maguire is under pressure he crumbles and Pickford has been terrible in the prem. we literally have the choice to play Ramsdale who in my opinion is more reliable. I've notice England struggle against fast teams mainly because our defence is slow. If you look at Manchester city they are doing everything right like john stones is an amazing player but they have players that fit the system better. Like john stones and Maguire are really slow and they don't make up for it in the defence aspect. Like why aren't we playing ben white? and why are we playing Henderson? why is Sam Johnstone even on the team? why is Gallagher there over Maddison? Maddison is really good at set pieces something England aren't great at as we rarely score from them maddison is a very reliable player who can whip in good corners and free kicks and pass around the midfield gallagher is limited in our midfield as our main focus is bellingham gallagher will just get pushed off the ball too often. and why is trent in midfield? like we dont need him there now we have rice we have mainoo we have maddison we have bellingham and why is gordon playing? yes he is a very good player but we dont need him from the start of the game its better to sub him on at around 60-70 mins into a game as he is a very charismatic player and can create chances from the wing. why are we playing ollie watkins? ok he has scored 19 goals this season but its just silly kane has scored 36 in 32 games and is also on the best form since he started at Tottenham 10+ years ago. we dont need 2 strikers we should just have kane ollie wont benifit us in any way we need foden and saka driving in at the wing I think most of englands goals will come from working the ball at the wing ollie watkins cant create chances from just being given the ball outside the box players such as foden and saka can thats the point of them we feed kane goals like the system city have where doku and foden can drive in the wing and create an easy tap in for haaland. Our defence is tiny like our lb and rb subsitutes are just going to get pushed off the ball. england should be a defencive team and play long balls to foden and saka at the wing and score its simple our squad best fits that if we win the ball in defence we have players like kyle walker that are fast af and can feed the ball to the wingers/ kane when we are attacking we are too exposed and it never pays off we need to make a change I promise if we play definsively we will win the euros

    One single left-back? No Tomori or Eric Dier? When it comes to other positions, with plenty of choices, Southgate calls players from minor clubs and little experience, but for the left-back position, he doesn't call anyone. 😂 And again, Southgate discriminating against players who don't play in the Premier League – Tomori and Eric Dier play the Champions League in Milan and Bayern Munich, but nah they are not good enough for the England squad – let's get those nobodies from those big clubs Cristal Palace and Brighton to play alongside the legend Harry Maguire. 😂😂😂

    A stacked forward line and Declan rice doesn’t make an “top drawer” England team.
    Major holes in the back 4/5. They’ll get everyone excited against Serbia etc but that won’t hold up against the best teams.
