It is very concerning that western countries have to rely on tourism for more 5% of GDP.
GDP based on Tourisme, agriculture or mining is something for third world countries.

do not accept covid vaccine! this has been planned long ago, since 2010! this vaccine will alter human DNA and ARN for good! it might make all of us sterile, but it also might wear a chip, or nano robots inside (see ID202o, in Bangladesh homeless people were vaccinated ID2020 since last year, with chips inside- jyst google Bangladesh ID2020 and you will get to a page of a certain company. also, read about event201!!!

Assuming we are allowed, My Girlfriend and I have a holiday booked to Tenerife this October. We will be going unless it gets cancelled by TUI. after all this and the lockdown we really need it too! so YES we WILL be going if allowed to travel

Honestly, I would really love to travel but first I need to be sure that it is safe, secondly if I have to do quarantine in the cities/countries I travel to in Europe and if it's safe to stay in Air BnB or hotel. I'd like some clear answers of where I'd be able to go to and about flights.

No one seems to mention that there is still a risk of contracting the virus no matter how careful you are. I for one will not be travelling anywhere until there is a vaccine. It would be bad to contract the virus but even worse to contract it in a foreign country.

Half of London will buy campervans and invade Scotland.
Rural properties will fly off the shelf as wealthy people from the city buy more homes in Wales and the Scottish highlands.

I was stopped from visiting the Netherlands where I was born. I don't plan to reschedule and rather lose my money. This virus is here to stay, it is more lethal (A) density of population, (B) pollution (C) the Virus itself. I base my opinion on the fact the epic centers are in overcrowded polluted environments.

    May 30, 2024 at 2:56 pm

I’d love to travel this summer, but I’m afraid a second outbreak would lead countries shutting down borders again. Nobody wants to end up stranded out for indefinite time in a foreign country. That’s far from the ideal of vacationing.

If you add this legitimate concern to an inestable economy and uncertainty, common sense tells you the tourism industry won’t rebound as quickly.

  21. @AdrianSnell

    May 30, 2024 at 2:56 pm

You focus on air travel, and whilst that might be the main way of getting from A to B, many Europeans will be crossing borders in their cars, and crossing stretches of water by ferry…..I live in France , have already booked 2week holiday to Mallorca in September by ferry…!

06:02 – You say that easyJet will reduce its capacity TO about 30% but the slide says 'reduce BY 30%' — a massive difference in terms of numbers! πŸ˜€

  24. @Croz89

    May 30, 2024 at 2:56 pm

I have very tentative plans to visit Sardinia in September or October, nothing booked yet. However, I'm looking at a plan B in case flights are too expensive or a 14 day quarantine is still in effect, which would probably be travelling in my parent's motorhome somewhere in Scotland or France. Whatever I can manage I will do, because I do need to spend time away from home.

I didnΒ΄t plan on air travel period.
I have seen less of east germany than Belgium, the Netherlands Luxemburg, France, Spain, Austria and Croatia so might not have gone abroad without Corona and certanly have to stay available for babysitting with daycare faliling to cover nursing shifts, that will stay over normal levels.

  28. @lillywho

    May 30, 2024 at 2:56 pm

    "confidence boosting measures"
Personally, I'm not even sure if opening up again already is a good idea. And that term there sounds like companies potentially downplaying the level of risk that is still present, whatever the level might currently be.

  29. @susanpalmer4705

    May 30, 2024 at 2:56 pm

This whole lockdown thing has highlighted to me the fact that UK is leaving the EU. When we look at what Europe is doing to reopen between EU countries, it is now becoming a reality to me that after dec 31 that does not include us. We really are in self imposed isolation. What a bunch of ***

I think we will end up taking a small holiday in our own country or a neighbouring one. By train, rental car or a cycling journey. No planes, although we always try to avoid planes for their environmental impact, that is not so much due to the virus.

Coronavirus pandemic continues to increase daily throughout the world; there are a number of taxpayers that are kept in isolation, protected inside their houses, awaiting the situation to get much better. No travel for my Aussie family. It’s winter here, so skiing locally is as much we were thinking about. Might visit Ireland in 2021, all depending on quarantine measures in place. If I have to isolate for 2 weeks at both sides, it’s not viable to travel internationally.

In this video, we’re taking a look at Ireland’s military, why it’s considered to be a ‘weak link’ in Europe, and how this might change.
