The French Athletics Federation have neglected to reject two French heptathletes to the EA for the upcoming European Athletics Championship.

This has resulted in two slots in the event not being filled. The reserve ranking slots are held by Isabel Posch and Lovisa Karlsson.

EA claims that the rules prevent them from adding their names to the list of qualified athletes.

EA did, however, reward the French negligence, when they approved an additional slot to Kevin Mayer in the men's Decathlon.

This means that only 22 heptathletes will compete in Rome, while 25 decathletes have been approved.
