[Graphic video] Arsonist set fire to a packed bus in China

Chinese police have released surveillance footage showing the chaotic scene when a fire broke out on a packed bus in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province.

The footage shows a man in a light colored shirt pouring oil onto the floor of the bus and then setting it alight.

Police have found that the arsonist used banana oil, a paint thinner, to start the fire, but they are still checking his identity.

The fire broke out at around 17:00 Saturday when the bus with about 80 people on board was on Qingchun Road in downtown Hangzhou. A total of 32 passengers were injured, 16 severely.

Those who suffered serious injuries are now receiving treatment at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine.

The arsonist is also receiving treatment at the hospital.

Wang said a special team consisting of more than 100 medical personnel has been established to treat the victims and provide them with the best possible care.
