Tusk identifies Trump as threat to EU

Published

on

“Current challenges to the EU are more dangerous than ever before.”

So says European Council President Donald Tusk, who met leaders of the Baltic states on Tuesday, before a summit that he will chair in Malta to prepare the bloc’s future after Britain leaves,

Tusk identified threats such as China, Russia and radical Islam and highlighted what he called
‘worrying declarations’ by US President Donald Trump’s administration.

“For the first time in our history, in an increasingly multi-polar exโ€ฆ

Donald Tusk is right. Trump has shown himself not to be a reliabele partner of Europe anymore. The man Trump beeing a helped into office by Putin and having a highlt questionable personality should be ignored as muich as possible. Soon he will be impeached and the following US government will most likely much more cooperative with Europe.
Meanwhile, the EU should get stronger and united. I know the current EU is far from perfect. A lot of work needs to be done to make it more democratic, less burocratic and less influenced by the big nation states Germany and France. But the EU must succeed. Because: 'united we stand, divided we fall'!

The fascist left E U dictatorship confuse on purpose anti E U which is a reasonable position to take against the fascist left E U dictatorship and anti European. European is a culture and a race both of which the fascist left including the E U are happy to destroy with their immigrant invasion and other mad evil policies because of their hatred of white culture and people. There are people on the fascist left who openly advocate and promote the destruction of the white race [ GENOCIDE ] and some of them do it on camera. So to pretend to support we Europeans while promoting policies that will destroy our culture and people is the type of hypocrisy that the corrupt lying hypocritical traitorous racist fascist left display all the time. Trump is not out to destroy our culture or people he it the antidote to much of the evil that the fascist left has wrought. Donald Trump is a fascist and he's out on a dictatorship.
Fascists give nothing to the daily lives of people. They want us to believe that there is a great vision and a great myth. And a leader who brings together the people by the vision to embody and to articulate the myth. That is Trump. Trump says: I am the people and the people, that's me. And who is not on my side, does not belong to the people. "

"Trump isolates America so quickly that people hardly have time to respond to them. He has no knowledge, but instinct that says I have to work with other authoritarian leaders.
ย He admires strong men: Putin and Assad. In America he has people set up against each other and he spreads distrust. He is working to break down fundamental institutions, such as the rule of law and journalism. "

"Listen to how he talks. American politicians speak about freedom and democracy. Trump is not. He does not even bother to use these words, not even in his inaugural address. As he talks about politics, he talks about himself as the will of the people. That shows me that he is looking out on something else. "" The danger is that there is no clear cut where you can say, now I stand on the good side and now to the wrong one. People don't realize what is happening, until they at one point crossed to the darkness. "

Lots of Red Herrings ( distracting half true fears ) here. Maybe the
EU needs to take a look at austerity instead of nationalism as the
cause for Brexit. It is the cause for Trump as well however his
distracting dialogue is nationalist, racist and bigoted fear mongering.
The AUTHENTIC move is against global capitalism and austerity. Against
Neoliberalism. Guarantees ? Trump guarantees anything that will fill
his personal bank account exactly like any petty third world
dictatorship. Others who may profit will get on board with Trump and
forget silly and complicated money schemes like "EU". But…Ultimately
the whole thing will go down in flames and smoke.

I guess everyone in the EU is now trying to scare their citizens so they can push their agenda. Say what you say about President Trump, but he didn't lie to the American citizen when he said that if elected President, he was ready to do what he said. Of course, such sincerity is not a common trait of the EU's ruling class, so I can understand their dismay. I bet no European citizen on the street has a clue about what the ruling class in Brussels plans to do with their future, and more interestingly, not a single European citizen will be given a democratic vote to determine their own destiny and the future of Europe. Oh no, the kings of Brussels know better and the citizens are expected to shut up and be led by the wise men. Perhaps it should be America that should be scared about the European threat to democracy.

Baguette “bomb” explodes into diplomatic row

Published

on

http://www.euronews.com/ From Paris a wind of fury has stirred, directed across the channel at Britain. French Prime Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault has accused The Economist of resorting to,”excess” to boost its sales.

The weekly magazine’s front cover trumpeted its main article with the picture of seven baguettes tied together like a bomb. It has now exploded into a diplomatic row.

Francois Hollande’s economic reforms have come under attack, with The Economist claiming they could jeopardise the future of the euro because they are not ambitious enough and saying the financial markets could turn against France.

“I am shocked because it’s not the image I want to give of my country. At the same time I share some of the magazine’s opinions. I’m quite worried about the economic situation at the moment. I don’t see how the current measures will get us out of this,” said one woman.

There was some good news this week for the French President with data showing the country’s economy grew unexpectedly by 0.2 percent. French public spending accounts for 56 percent of the GDP the highest share in the eurozone while public debt has reached 90 percent of GDP.

French firms, says The Economist are burdened by overly rigid labour and product market regulation with the economy stagnant warning it may tip into recession this year.

For years France has been losing competitiveness to Germany, points out the article challenging Holland to show enough, “boldness and grit” to reform France. It comes just a few days after the president vowed to reform at his own pace

The French employers’ organisation Medef weighed into the argument saying the government had already taken measures to restore competitiveness.

US Election: Third presidential debate

Published

on

http://www.euronews.com/ The crucial swing state of Florida will be the battleground for the third and final US presidential debate.

Commentators generally agree that Republican Candidate Mitt Romney was stronger in their first exchange, while Obama was stronger in the second, and many tip the incumbent for this showdown which will focus on foreign policy.

“He has been very successful at taking out most of the leadership of Al-Qaida in Pakistan and Yemen in particular, including Osama Bin Laden, of course. He has also reduced the USD military footprint in the Middle East,” said Jordan Tama of the School of International Service, American University.

This was always going to be a tough debate for Mitt Romney who makes his strongest performances when he can talk about domestic issues and the economy.

It is in foreign affairs that Barack Obama has made his mark, moving far away from the policies of the previous government as James Mann of the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies explains:

“The Bush vision was to build up so much power that a leader of another country would be crazy to even try to match it. The Obama administration has pursued a much more modest version of American power”

Some might be watching for certain issues which are close to their heart here, but the candidates’ policies on things like the economy are much more likely to affect the vote.

For many there will only one point to look out for, who is the most likely to keep them safe?

There is no question that Obama, after the Bush years, has improved America’s standing in the world. He remains immensely popular in Western Europe, but considerably less in Eastern Europe. And in the Middle East, he is regarded as just another US president who failed to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
