Nepal: Trekker video captures landslide caused by earthquake
Dramatic footage of last month’s earthquake and the landslide that followed in the Langtang area of Nepal emerged on 05 May. The valley and the village of Langtang are about 60 kilometres (35 miles) north of Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu.
This video was filmed by a man trekking in the Langtang Valley, a popular trekking route bordering Tibet. Boulders are rolling down the hill and a huge cloud of dust rapidly approaches the camera.
The man who filmed the footage survived the quake. Rescuers in the area were still digging through thousands of tons of earth from a landslide in the area that wiped out an entire village and killed at least 60 people.
