Racism and Covid-19. Two issues that have been the staple of our news cycle for the last weeks. World leaders have mobilised to greater or lesser success to stamp out the pandemic – but have they shown the same committment to ending systemic racism? The death of George Floyd has sparked global outrage over police brutality but also all-pervasive prejudice that props up our socieites. Now statues of slave masters have fallen, confederate flags have been taken down, commissions have been set up, but, can this moment of reckoning actually mark the point where the structural power of racism was taken apart?

To discuss the steps that could realistically be taken, Isabelle Kumar is moderating a World Economic Forum discussion on ending systemic racism. She is joined by Lysa John Berna Secretary-General, Civicus: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, South Africa
Thando Hopa Diversity Advocate and International Model, South Africa Cheryl Dorsey President, Echoing Green, USA United States
Judith Williams Head, People Sustainability; Senior Vice-President; Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, SAP, USA (software business solutions provider)
