British Parliament recalled to debate Thatcher’s legacy
http://www.euronews.com/ The British Parliament is to reconvene as MPs and peers are recalled to Westminister from their Easter recess to debate the legacy of the late Margaret Thatcher, who died on Monday.
Prime Minister David Cameron will lead the tributes in the Commons, with Labour leader Ed Miliband and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg expected to contribute.
Miliband has instructed his MPs to show respect while in the chamber. However, a number of Labour MPs who fiercely opposed her policies while she was alive look set to rebel.
Speaking to the British press David Winnick MP for Walsall North said: “It would be absolutely hypocritical if those of us opposed at the time to what occurred, the mass unemployment, the poverty were to remain silent:”
It should prove a lively debate and you can watch it live on euronews at 15.30 CET.
