Video: Fire raging after fuel train derails in Russia

Thirty-two wagons derailed in northern Russia’s Kirov region and gas condensate spilled. More than 400 people were evacuated, no people were .

A tank with gas condensate on the freight train en route from Zuyevka to Lyangasova caught fire as a result of broken power line at 04:30 Moscow time (00:30 GMT) at the 980th kilometer of railway station Pozdino on Gorkovskaya Railway, the Investigative Committee said.

As a result of fire, 32 wagons derailed and gas condensate spilled. Dwellers of neighborly houses and workers of a bakery were evacuated, no people were hurt in the incident.

An inquiry prior to investigation is in progress..A team of detectives and operatives are working at the incident site. A procedural decision will be taken upon results of the inquiry.

Regional emergency situation department noted that 32 wagons of the freight train with gas condensate derailed and 12 wagons caught fire then. Fifty-seven wagons are cordoned off.

Russia’s Investigative Committee filed a criminal case upon the derailment of wagons, fuel spill and fire outbreak. Four residential houses and several private houses are situated in the incident area, a total of 435 dwellers were evacuated. No people were hurt.
