First Look – Fendi Spring 2012 at Milan Fashion Week MFW | FashionTV – FTV
http://www.FTV.com/videos MILAN – Gold and silver metal leaf are placed on the eyelids for the Fendi Spring/Summer 2012 collection at Milan Fashion Week. “It’s actually inspired by the sunglasses,” says makeup artist Peter Phillips, “Karl designed sunglasses with no frame and we wanted to do something that, kind of, repeats the shape of the sunglasses, and we took a texture that comes back in the accessories.” The hair is a big poof on the head. Sam McKnight, runway hairstylist, describes the look. “Here at Fendi, it’s kind of Einstein-inspired. She’s a Mathematician,” he says. “It’s all about Italy and daily life,” says designer Karl Lagerfeld, “because I think daily life should be refined. Fendi is known for handbags. Handbags you don’t wear on the discotech and on the red carpet. This is something to match the lifestyle of an Italian woman in a modern way. It’s an easy fashion.” Model Magdalena Frackowiak says, “It’s always fun to work with Karl and be part of the group and very inspiring to every collection.”
“For every clothes you see on the runway, there’s a sketch,”Karl says of his thought process behind each piece, “And I don’t do computer sketches.” He continues, “I have found a way to make three-dimensional sketches look like the clothes.” Abby Lee Kershaw sums up the collection best: “It’s kind of eclectic, it’s a bit kooky, at the same time as being girly and cute, it’s also got this quirkiness about it.”

Step inside The Plaza with Gigi Hadid to explore the spring/summer 2027 show of Tommy Hilfiger on FashionTV!
Staged at the iconic Plaza Hotel, the legendary address Tommy Hilfiger once called home, Tommy Hilfiger unveiled its newest collection, “Plaza Prep,” during New York Fashion Week. Blending 40 years of brand heritage with modern New York street attitude, the runway transformed uptown luxury into a dynamic playground for modern American prep. Gigi Hadid opened the show, leading a lineup of oversized and shrunken polo silhouettes, vivid yellow-and-green color blocking, and refined Ithaca-striped shirting.
Heritage tartan blazers and high-cut chinos met relaxed 90s-inspired two-tone skate sneakers, while washed silk-cashmere fabrics and leather pool slides added effortless texture. The Palm Court and Terrace Room hosted a star-studded front row including Kate Moss, Camila Cabello, Jisoo, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Carmelo Anthony, and Aron Piper.
Romeo Beckham walked the final look to the sounds of the Matt Jones Orchestra, before pop artist Slayyyter closed the night with an energetic performance of her anthem “Dance”.

ELENA MORALES: Oceanic Elegance for S/S 27 | Gran Canaria Swim Week
Embrace the spirit of slow luxury by Elena Morales on FashionTV!
Rooted in a commitment to slow fashion and mindful craftsmanship, Canarian designer Elena Morales brought a serene, elevated vision to the Gran Canaria Swim Week runway. Her latest swimwear line frames swimming not merely as beachwear, but as an attitude of effortless, unhurried movement by the sea.
Stripping away fleeting ornamentations, the presentation championed restrained minimalism with clean silhouettes, precise architectural cuts, and a calming palette of earthy terracottas, muted sage, and solid oceanic hues. Key collection highlights included asymmetrical one-shoulder monokinis, high-waisted briefs with fluid gathering, and sweeping linen dusters designed to transition seamlessly from sunlit coves to late-afternoon lounging.
Tactile matte finishes and soft ribbed textures added depth without compromising the streamlined aesthetic. Each piece – from sculptural one-pieces to technical basics – was crafted locally in the Canary Islands using 100% recycled ECONYL® yarn and organic sea-cell blends, pairing high performance with zero-waste tailoring.
The showcase stood out as a poignant masterclass in quiet luxury, demonstrating how conscious design, raw coastal inspiration, and understated form can command the global swimwear stage.

ANNA SUI: Down the Rabbit Hole for S/S 27 | New York Fashion Week
Explore the enchanting S/S 27 collection of Anna Sui and discover the reimagined 1995 Swarovski archival dress on FashionTV!
Anna Sui invites us into a dreamlike world driven by curiosity and unexpected discovery. Inspired by a chance encounter with Howard Gardiner Cushing’s paintings in a 1970s issue of Vogue, Sui builds a collection rooted in “Wonderment” – the sudden moment of enlightenment when a new visual world opens before you.
The collection translates that feeling of enchantment through rich, eclectic layering and intricate textures. Boudoir nostalgia meets grunge glamour as romantic lilac and black fairytale prints, Beardsley-esque florals, and Poiret stripes mingle with chartreuse crushed velvet, ombre plaids, and cabochon-bejeweled denim.
Key pieces like mother-of-pearl paillette tops, rosebud lace capris, and Fortuny-inspired crushed satin separates reflect a wardrobe built through accumulation, contrast, and endless imagination. A central highlight of the show was a special collaboration with Swarovski.
Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert partnered with Sui to reimagine an iconic archival halter dress from the landmark Spring 1995 “Retro” collection (originally worn by Trish Goff and Kate Moss).
Recreated with Swarovski crystal components, the legendary piece returned to the runway for S/S 27 worn by model Scarlett White, bridging 30 years of New York fashion history.
The fantasy extended to the show’s artisanal accessories: fairy-like crystal eyewear by Mondottica, floral-sculpted Olah hair scrunchies, Arts & Crafts abalone jewelry by Erickson Beamon, and rosette-adorned boudoir slippers crafted by John Fluevog Shoes.
