European U23 100m champion Karolina Manasova smashed Jarmila Kratochvilova’s legendary and enduring Czech 100m record at the Liese Prokop Memorial.

Kratochvilova’s mark of 11.09 had been largely untroubled since it was set in 1981 but in optimal sprinting conditions, Manasova improved the record by a significant margin and almost became the first Czech in history to break the 11 second-barrier with 11.01.
