UN Gaza agency forced to suspend aid to refugees

A shortfall in funding has forced the UN agency in Gaza (UNWRA) to suspend aid to tens of thousands of Palestinians for repairs to homes damaged in the conflict last summer.

More than a quarter of the population was displaced by the fighting. The ==UN warned on Tuesday that rebuilding is a matter of life and death==, with babies dying of hypothermia in the winter months.

“Absolutely no question of a change in foreign policy,” UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy tells #EuropeToday, only days after Keir Starmer announced his resignation as prime minister.

Trump threatens Hormuz tolls as ships sail on despite IRGC’s closure claim

Iran’s IRGC said it had closed the Strait of Hormuz over Israeli strikes on Lebanon, but CENTCOM said 55 ships carrying 17 million barrels of oil transited unhindered. Trump meanwhile warned of US tolls if a final deal was not reached within 60 days.
