Presented at the Petit Palais, the collection wasn’t about a fall from grace, but rather a soaring exploration of couture’s potential. Roseberry’s inspiration stemmed from antique ribbons from the 1920s and 30s, discovered in a Parisian shop, prompting him to question the modern obsession with simplicity and embrace a more baroque and extravagant aesthetic. This “time traveling” approach saw silhouettes nodding to various historical periods, from the liquid deco of the 20s and 30s, seen in fragile silk georgette and sharp hip blades, to the severe-shouldered pre-war Schiaparelli jackets paired with 90s-style bias-cut skirts.
