NASA footage: Stunning images of rare Mercury transit across the Sun
NASA released images yesterday (9 May) of the planet Mercury making a rare “transit” across the surface of the sun; a phenomenon that occurs only 13 times in a century.
The process takes about seven-and-a-half hours, with Mercury appearing as a black dot on the Sun’s surface.
