Hostage standoff video: Kidnapped China student rescued by police
Police arrested a man who kidnapped a high school girl at knife-point Sunday night in central China’s Hunan Province.
The kidnapper was discovered hiding in a van with the hostage after fleeing to Taojiang, a county in Yijiang City. Out of surprise and panic, the robber locked himself in the van, threatening no other shall come close.
He finally agreed not to hurt the girl after two hours of confrontation with the police, in exchange for another vehicle for running away. After the police said yes, he dragged the hostage down the vehicle and begun to look for timing for the planned escape.

‘NATO not obliged to reopen the Strait,’ Turkey’s trade minister tells Euronews
