On a cold Wyoming night, Shawn Hess proved in front of the cameras why he’s a great songwriter. Whats makes one? Often a combination of experience and honesty. And Shawn has a whole heck a lot of it.

He was one of our first videos when we started this venture. I would always ask Shawn if he would talk about his songs and tell us what kind of a place his music comes from. He would always shrug it off or tell me, “It’s all in the title and the words. There’s your answer.” So you can imagine my surprise when he decided to talk about this song. A “Tear For You” is dedicated to his father and people who have shown him real love in this world. That vulnerability makes this even more special. The best songwriters are.
