Tens of thousands have hit the streets of Paris as The City of Light celebrates Gay Pride, exactly one month to the day since France conducted its first same-sex marriage.

As Paris throbbed to the sound of techno music it marked a huge contrast to the violent anti-gay marriage protests that took place in the capital in May and early June.

In a show of support the British Embassy in the city flew the rainbow flag as the UK is currently in the process of enacting similar legislation.
