The collection directly re-examines Immanuel Kant’s 1764 aesthetic division, which historically assigned beauty to women and sublimity to men, unifying both ideas into a single, gender-fluid wardrobe. In a masterclass of structural synthesis, Madeleine Vionnet’s fluid bias-cut curves (the beautiful) merge seamlessly with Charles James’s architectural tailoring (the sublime).

Dubbed “Primitive Modern,” the collection is engineered to withstand extreme heat, pairing traditional hand-spun, hand-woven khadi with high-performance Japanese textiles that deliver exceptional breathability, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying qualities.

Beyond aesthetics, the collection honors social sustainability. Crafted entirely in Aya Design’s own factory in regional Japan, every garment is produced alongside local artisans – from initial planning to final stitch – to champion fair craftsmanship and regional revitalization.
