http://www.FashionTV.com/videos MILAN – No 21 is in its second year with Alessandro Dell’Acqua at the helm. This Fall/Winter 2012-2013 takes on an urban theme with everything from jewels to hologram sweatshirts to bomber jackets in tweed. FashionTV interviews Finnish model Suvi Koponen, who has been to Milan many times, but has missed the fashion week there for a few seasons. Dell’Acqua says his inspiration here is Queen Elizabeth in her garden. “I mixed this idea of regality, but when she does gardening or goes to the country,” he describes saying he mixed tweed with other precious fabrics and includes a mix and match of volumes including an enhanced jewel beaded skirt and silhouettes including a few masculine shirts and body con dresses.

FashionTV learns the music for this show is the soundtrack of Pina Bausch, a dance film documentary about a German choreographer. “Everyone will leave the room with the song in their head,” says sound designer Marcelo Burlon.

Aya Design: The Beautiful and the Sublime for S/S 27 | London Fashion Week

Published

on

Experience the synthesis of structure and fluidity – watch the Aya Design spring/summer 2027 presentation now on FashionTV!

Premiering at London Fashion Week, Aya Design presents its newest collection film, “The Beautiful and the Sublime,” dismantling classic sartorial dualisms through precision pattern-making rather than words.

The collection directly re-examines Immanuel Kant’s 1764 aesthetic division, which historically assigned beauty to women and sublimity to men, unifying both ideas into a single, gender-fluid wardrobe. In a masterclass of structural synthesis, Madeleine Vionnet’s fluid bias-cut curves (the beautiful) merge seamlessly with Charles James’s architectural tailoring (the sublime).

Dubbed “Primitive Modern,” the collection is engineered to withstand extreme heat, pairing traditional hand-spun, hand-woven khadi with high-performance Japanese textiles that deliver exceptional breathability, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying qualities.

Beyond aesthetics, the collection honors social sustainability. Crafted entirely in Aya Design’s own factory in regional Japan, every garment is produced alongside local artisans – from initial planning to final stitch – to champion fair craftsmanship and regional revitalization.
