Versus Runway Show – Milan Fashion Week Spring 2012 MFW | FashionTV – FTV

Published

on

http://www.FTV.com/videos MILAN – Donatella Versace and Christopher Kane are the pair behind Versus and so we were sure the label was going to bring out the best of sophistication. Instead, the duo focused on basketball players and cheerleaders as the runway was set up to look like a basketball court and models walked down in bright color overload. Still, the colors weren’t the neon hues we’ve seen at other Spring/Summer 2012 collections, instead mint green, light yellow, and violet took the place of fuchsia, red, and cobalt blue and the looks were undeniably sporty, with a polished twist. Track jackets, hooded sweatshirts, and dresses that looked like they could transition from the sports game to the after party took on a whole new meaning. Referee uniform stripes in black and purple were embellished, leather was cropped, and hemlines seemed to be taken from the fringed pom pomp of our favorite cheerleaders. Pastel dresses, obviously referenced from sports, were still modern and utterly elegant as is the true nature of Donatella and Christopher, who most certainly are cheering from the sidelines like spectators.

Appearances: Zuzanna Bijoch, Kate King, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Josephine Skriver, Arizona Muse, Daria Strokous, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Sarah Blomqvist, Emily Baker, Samantha Gradoville, Julia Nobis, Melissa Tammerijn, Daga Ziober, Karolina Waz, Daphne Groeneveld, Marique Schimmel, Fei Fei Sun, Ginta Lapina, Maud Welzen, Nadine Ponce, Aymeline Valade, Donatella Versace, Christopher Kane

REPARTO, Building Dreams | 080 Barcelona F/W 26-27

Published

on

Explore the experimental silhouettes in “Blacklot” – the fall/winter 2026-2027 collection of Reparto presented at 080 Barcelona Fashion Week!

Taking the concept of dreams as its core axis, the brand explores the term in every sense, from the surreal imagery of nocturnal experiences to the expansive spaces of imagination and future projection.

The title itself refers to the film industry’s “backlot,” that magical terrain where sets are constructed to simulate both the real and the fictional, serving as the perfect metaphor for a brand that constantly builds its own narrative worlds.

The collection is a masterful temporal collision, weaving together the silhouettes of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. By establishing a dialogue between the twilight of the Victorian era, the rise of Art Deco, and the gritty underground culture of the late twentieth century, Reparto constructs an aesthetic that oscillates between romanticism and sharp irony.

This experimental dimension is further reinforced through conscious techniques like upcycling, object repetition, and moulage, ensuring each garment is as thoughtful as it is theatrical. Developed under the evocative motto, “Dreams are expensive, but dreaming is free” – a nod to a poignant quote by Daniel Roseberry – Blacklot serves as a reminder of the sanctity of the imagination.

While our grandest desires may carry a cost, the act of dreaming remains a free, personal, and radical territory.

MOSCHINO F/W 26-27, Tongue-in-Chic | Milan Fashion Week

Published

on

Embrace the irony and nostalgia of the fall/winter 2026-2027 show of Moschino presented at Milan Fashion Week!

Moschino Creative Director Adrian Appiolaza takes us on a deeply personal yet universal journey titled “Terra.” Drawing from his childhood roots in Argentina, Appiolaza translates the spirit of his homeland through the unmistakable Moschino lens of wit, affection, and “tongue-in-chic” irony.

The runway serves as a vibrant map, charting a path from the sophisticated urbanity of Buenos Aires to the rustic charm of the countryside, celebrating a cast of characters that are both local archetypes and global icons.

The collection is a masterclass in contradiction, where Franco Moschino’s legacy of exploding cliches meets Appiolaza’s nostalgic curiosity. Child-like exaggerations transform silhouettes: bourgeois ladies, soccer-obsessed teens, and gauchos of the Pampas populate the scene alongside three-dimensional knitted llamas.

Landmarks like the Obelisco and the decorative swirls of Fileteado Porteño provide a rich visual backdrop. In a brilliant crossover of icons, the famous cartoon character Mafalda, created by the legendary Quino, makes her debut, standing as a modern counterpart to the brand’s historic love for Olive Oyl. “Terra” pushes boundaries by displacing the familiar. Elaborate ruffles are reimagined in latex, while heritage broderie anglaise tablecloths are draped into high-fashion gowns.

Sharp tailoring paying homage to the silhouette of Evita showcases the superlative craft of the Moschino DNA, while trompe l’oeil accessories – including a “bag” of churros and silver photographic frames – capture the brand’s signature sense of displacement.

Closing with a joyful tango of ruffles and movement, the collection proves that at Moschino, fashion is a serious sense of humor and a celebration of individual truth.
