Genny explores a fascinating tension between historical rigor and organic explosion. Inspired by the “Incroyables et Merveilleuses” of the French Directory – the precursors to dandyism – creative director Sara Cavazza Facchini reimagines the masculine wardrobe with uncompromising architectural precision. Sharp blazers, structured waistcoats, and high-collared shirts are reinterpreted for the female body, creating a vertical, measured, and impeccably composed silhouette. Yet, this discipline is far from sterile. From the heart of these sartorial constructions, the collection transitions into “botanical architecture.” Sculptural, three-dimensional petals transform bodices into monumental corolla skirts, allowing the garments to bloom like living sculptures. Tailored bows replace traditional fastenings on sensual white shirts, while ruffles trace the contours of sleek jumpsuits. Feathers add a theatrical lightness to structured tops, acting as “accents of air” against the rigidity of the tailoring. Grounded in black and ivory, the palette erupts with vibrant fuchsia, dusty lilac, and pale yellow, while the choice of loafers and slippers subtracts formality, asserting a woman who commands the room with the composure of a gentleman and the grace of a blossoming flower.

Witness the full transformation of Gaultier’s most iconic codes in the fall/winter 2026-2027 show presented at Paris Fashion Week! Creative director Duran Lantink delivers a masterful second collection for the House of Gaultier, transforming the runway into a high-stakes casting call of subversive characters. Inspired by a vintage mesh T-shirt featuring the legendary Marlene Dietrich, Lantink channels her “caress and whip” energy to blend sweet grace with dominant disruption. The collection is a playground of hybrids: detectives, ravers, cowboys, and Fifth Avenue bankers all collide in a world where tailoring, sportswear, and “inside-out” philosophy reign supreme. Lantink’s approach stays true to his roots in upcycling and transformation, treating the Gaultier archives like a living organism. Key historical elements are resurrected and reimagined: the gathered waist of a 2016 pinstripe suit evolves into sculptural experiments, while a cropped bomber from the 80s returns alongside Fair Isle knits from 1990 repurposed as sleek base layers. The collection even flirts with Futurism and the bizarre, morphing rubber car tires into accessories and nodding to Pierre Cardin’s sculptural legacy. By turning the archive inside out – both literally and figuratively – Lantink proves that at the House of Gaultier, the only rule is the freedom to play.
