Akris just turned fine art into wearable luxury for S/S 27 – watch the spring/summer 2027 show on FashionTV!

For S/S 2027, Akris creative director Albert Kriemler engaged in a profound artistic dialogue with acclaimed Austrian painter Martha Jungwirth, translating her intuitive, body-grounded brushwork into fluid sartorial form.

Inspired by Jungwirth’s physical, diary-like approach to art, the collection embodies an ongoing act of showing and hiding: tailoring loosens while preserving structural precision, knits become featherlight, and dangling straps settle naturally with the movement of the body.

Hand-applied ribbons echo the zigzag of gestural brushstrokes, upside-down laser-cut fringe redirects momentum, and reversed jacquards intentionally reveal raw, frayed inner workings to keep the marks of making visible.

Paying homage to both Jungwirth’s working wardrobe and Akris’s heritage, petite apron iterations emerge as delicate standalone layers, embellished with embroidery drawn from a 1950s archival design by Albert’s grandmother, Alice Kriemler.

Through raw textures, unvarnished edges, and historical memory, Akris S/S 27 merges painterly impulse with refined Swiss craftsmanship.
